While the whole world is paying attention to the winter Olympics in 8 days, rediff and all other media have nothing to say about it. What a shame. We keep on harping about how great India is in a stupid sport played by 8-10 countries, a sport the rest of the world knows nothing about. What a bunch of idiots are we billion plus people. Just because we can't excel in Olympics, winter or summer, we just stick to playing a sport only alive in India while other cricket playing countries excel in all other sports and for whom Olympics is the epitome of sporting success. We rate our sport prowess based on how good we are in cricket. WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS WE ARE !!

I agree with you to certain extent for the fact that India though is a second most populous country, is not winning enough medals olympics. One of the reasons is the other sports in india are not getting enough funds and sponsors to attract people. But you cannot blame cricket for that. Why you should not see or like cricket. The argument that Cricket played in only few countries is childish. If Kabaddi is played in only 4 countries, does that mean it is not good sport and we should not play or watch it? Cricket and Indian films are only refreshing parts of otherwise struggling common man's life.
From next year, two more teams, and therefore almost 100 matches, this is a disaster in waiting, like a monster waiting to unearth some big don't know what. But it is sure going to be something that one will never expect to be and for worse to happen in cricket which has never ever happened, imagine the injuries, the fatigue factor, traveling, pressure, etc.

In India even one over a side will be very popular for that matter only toss and declare winner .there will be huge crowd .TV will start two hours early and will have three hours of advertisements - if possible . So we are not worried about over kill. What we are looking is for killing the time.

Well said.But you have to keep in mind that there is no sport other than cricket in India.Hence we are stuck with cricket.
it is already too much.. the amount of matches in ipl, t20 world cup, chamipions league and official t20 matches are killing it the amount of games in ipl itself is boring now.. any format needs to be short anf well timed.. like champions trophy in ODIs
