being drop from Indian team
by miriam loretto on Feb 04, 2010 12:37 PM

"It is amazing how players perform their best after being dropped from the main Indian side. Look at the performances of Karthik & both the Pathan brothers in this match. However you bring them back to the Indian side based on such performances in Domestic cricket and they start performing poorly again. I always wonder how reliably can we look at performances at the domestic look?"

Domestic Cricket
by Jay on Feb 04, 2010 07:50 AM

With the return of ICL players domestic cricket has become more competitive and interesting.

BCCI should plan the calendar such that we get 12-15 Tests in a year and the domestic calendar is planned such that our national players also get to play in it and matches should be played in different types of pitches. Playing 15 Tests in a year should be planned immediately rather than too many ODIs and T20s, which should be planned only after planning Test and Domestic matches schedule.

Agarkar missing in the squad
by Medulla Oblangta on Feb 04, 2010 12:49 AM  | Hide replies

I know Chateshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Abhishek Nayar are on Board president duties but why Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel, Romesh Powar and Iqbal Abdullah did not play. Had they played West zone would have performed better.

How do you know he is a Marathi? He might be a Tamilian or a Kanndiga or a Andhrite. Ganapathy is a very common name there too.

is it considered first class match?
by vinay on Feb 03, 2010 11:38 PM  | Hide replies

coz, it is just like a practice match played with so many players.
majority of batsman were allowed to b played n all the bowlers were allowed to b bowled. howevr, team had 11 players at a time. so some batman hv been rested while taking field.

can it b allowed in matches to b considered as first class match? however, there is no harm, as every one vl get chance to show case their talent.

Absolem is a HYD player. Since he didn't get chance to play for HYD, he went to ICL and proved his worth. I think he even got a six-wkt haul there in his allotted four overs.
