Mr.BSBedi is the most misunder stood person in the media and the ICC. He was the first person to point out that murali chucks but no body paid any attention to it not even Sastri or Sunil and the result is he is the highest wicket taker in cricket hisory by illigal means. This two test match was arranged suddenly when India became no1 when Australia lost to England(it's by default),so to establish that they are no1 this tour was arranged(fixed).SA players will be busy with our models and actress and India will make a clean sweep of 2-0.Thank you Mr bedi.
Very few times have I agreed with Bishan Singh Bedi in the past. However, this time around I have to play ball with him cause I don't see a meaning to all these 2-test series taking place. A good test series between two evenly matched teams should be at least 3 games. The best case scenario would be a 5 match series. Then again, India never plays a 5 match series with anybody given their obsession with limited overs cricket. I would personally enjoy a 3 match series against SA. Scrap the one day internationals and the T20 given the fact the IPL is only a few days away following the tour.

You are right! They are really obssessed with ODi and especially with T20. The really cricket is Test if played with positive spirit. What if they won one test each, the series will be draw. At least there must be three tests in series' scrap the ODI's!
why not hav a 7 or 9 test series. 30 players should be selected for that series and everone should get a chance to play. no player should be allowed to play more than 3 tests. This way u will also end up testing the spares (bench strength) ;)

What is essence of this test matches. Once tested, the tested entity should be put to the good use.
But here we go on testing and praising ourself just because we are passed in the test, without actually making use of our tests

Reddy:
Very true. Not just test matches, they keep overdoing every sport. Wimbledon every year, Olympics every four, FIFA world cup every four.... What's all this? Play once and freeze the records for about 10000 years before bothering again... Right? :)

I too agree, at least 3, if not 5. it would have been great if we had played 5 tests against SA. Let us see the result...are you predicting 1-0 in favor of india?

Well, not SA I'd like a test series of five tests against Australia! That'd be fun!

I feel spinners like (Amit) Mishra and (Piyush) Chawla should consider themselves lucky to play for India ....Are you the Best ever Spinner, Mr. Bedi? I think both of these spinners are better than you. So never overestimate yourself. You must consider yourself to be a part of Indian team. Guess what would have happened if Rajinder Goel were given a chance for once. The later took more than 700 wickets in first class cricket but some of so called legend did not give him a chance to play. Piyush Chawala, Amit Mishra and others are there because they are best available spinners today. Certainly, there were many good spinners at your time but did not get a chance as you did.

ankit..are you a soccer fan wrongly landed in this page? because only idiots and fools can tell that amit mishra and chawla are better than bedi. Bedi is a legend, a proven cricketer. Amit and Piyush have a long way to go. they have just embarked on their journey and bedi was right that they should consider lucky playing international matches. I think you should go follow soccer from the kids who play near your home and take tips to learn at least soccer.

Superstar! I am not a critic of Bedi but he certainly can not say the other spinners are just lucky to be in the Indian squad. They have worked hard and the best options available, My point was to say that when Bedi plyaed for India, there were hundreds of options available but they were actually unlucky not to get a chance. Bedi is outspoken, no doubt about this. And I have seen him play too. An ordinary spinner bowled against some amature batsman,

The only snineer of current breed that comes close to the terrific trio of past was Kumble.Mishra & Chawla are not even worth comparision.

Venkatapathy Raju is the best spinner ever. Even Bedi himself agreed to this. Bedi is like our gully cricketer, stomach is bigger than whole body, and fields like banana is stuck in the area b/w thighs and ..s
Cricket is being played for more than 100 years now. for more than at least 50 years there are 8 test playing nations. No strong contender added since then!. Rather we have been witnessing a fall in the viewership with West Indies and New Zealand already showing lack of interest. English team has half Asians in it!. So if something like a T20 or IPL can bring back the game then why not. After all no games are played for the public at international level...So I guess we should shun test cricket and promote the shorter version more aggressively

Cricket in countries like West Indies,England, New Zealand is on deathbed. Pakistan is almost finished. Bangladesh is just a club level team. It leaves only Australia, India, SA and Sri Lanka.
Even T20, IPL will not be able to revive cricket in WI,NZ, England and Pakistan. These teams will remain second/third rated in future. Failure of EPL says that cricket is dying in England.
Effectively, Cricket world will shrink to 4 countries - India, Australia, SA and Sri Lanka.

Why is cricket on deathbed in England? Last two ashes they have beaten Aus in England. They are one John Snow away from number one status.
