totally agree with you. there is 3 days of play remaining and the pitch will ease out. so batting will becoming progressively easier. India should get a big partnership going. I'd say 350 - 400 is a competitive score to set.

why do you think the pitch will ease out ? Many overs are unplayable. LBW or catch appears to be consuming everyone so far.
350-400 is an outright winning score on this wicket. Competitive score is anything upwards of 250. VVSL himself had said after he got out to a stunning catch in first innings that a score of 250 will be great first innings total.

Hope ur prediction comes true and the match ends tomorrow with a resounding Indian vicotry.Or else a Laxman special with a chance for Pujara to show his class and shut the door on T20 man Raina for a long long time.
Re: match is very tricky position

Formula is simple.
1. lead in range of 250-300. 2. Unleash Zaheer, Bhaji in short critical spells. Ask others to bowl good line and length. 3. Urge our butterfinger fielders to stay vigilant and look out for generating run-outs and catches. ( see how Kallis was run out by Ishant ).
VVS is the only hope who can stand for long and bring Victory for India. The Match is Wide open. Its time Sachin calls it a day and give way to youngsters. No doubt he is great player but at times he plays for his records
We have to bat patiently. Very Very Special is there and with him and the others another 90 odd runs should happen. Anything more will frustrate SAf enormously.
Then it is on to the bowlers. Zaheer and Harbhajan will stand up, question remains about Sreesanth and Ishanth. If those two perform as they can the South Africans will face a tough task. Temperamentally they are not a strong team.

LOL @ Very Very Special.
It's funny and cute how he developed a (well-deserved) reputation for 4th innings heroics. Come rain or cramps he'll try to do the MacKlane Die Hard act.
Yes, key thing is doing anything possible to 'frustrate SA enormously'.
Vijay failed miserably in both the innings. He don;t have a clue for most of the time. The only fours he got are through edges or mistimes. I believe vijay got selected just because he is a tamil. Otherwise there is nothing great about this guy. He is like another Dinesh Karthik where the investment is again waste. He is robbing the opportunities for others
Selectors need to give opportunities to good prospectes like Rahane, M Pandey who are far far better than Vijay. They are good against Quality bowling. But I don;t know how many chances Vijay need before they get a chance.
You can see the case of Pujara. Previously Dinesh karthik got lot of chances. He played 50 tests unnecessarily and the whole investment is a waste. Instead of giving him so many chances, selectors should have gone for Pujara long time back itself.I believe the same thing is happpeninig for Vijay also.

He is only a stand-in player. And statistically a lucky mascot. Whenever he stood-in for Gambhir, India has never lost.
Point about Rahane, M Pandey is noted.
If Gambhir is playing, he is not replaceable at this moment.

;-)
He has worked very very hard to earn his place. Still remember how he was out of contention for selection into team and he went to County and forced his way to the team as a changed bowler.

Sure but we have to cross 300 runs to become safe and after that bowlers have to perform their best. MANIGREEV,SM,FGI

Agree with both of you. At the least we must score in 250-300 range, considering that the pitch has become unplayable.
