Indians were unlucky with the toss yet again!
by sandeep kumar on Dec 27, 2010 10:30 AM  | Hide replies

Yet another game where toss plays such a vital role.Same in the first test when India had the worst of conditions. And they say that Indian curators dont make sporting tracks!! A few people have started calling India as a false No1, forgetting that we have series victories just about everywhere(except SA and Aus, and we know why they lost in 2008). And this was a pitch with too much help for steyn and co. Imagine if praveen kumar and zaheer had bowled on the same pitch, SA would not have got even 200!! Every team makes pitches to suit their needs and that what SA have done. How many times have we seen foreign teams cleaned up by indian spinners on our wickets. Now i dread that the pitch will ease out and SA will have an easy time of it. Hope India fights and fights hard, as its clearly the better of the two teams.

Zaheer should now concentrate only on the seam movement and get the swing. Durban is one pitch where swing would be prominent
Sreesanth should bowl good length and on the stumps instead of leg side or off side.
Ishanth should control his pace and get some good bounce considering his height factor.
Bhajji should be getting some turn (wonder if Harris actually got any turn on this pitch)
Tendulkar should come in to the rescue when RR starts shooting over the top.

I think it is now upto the bowlers to save us from letting SA post a huge total

Well said Laxman....i expected lot more frm Laxman and Dravid

They are undoubtedly the best test batsmen....who gave us many test victories and also saved some lost matches for us...particularly on pitches like these where others usually struggle

Why

Why this nonsense statement from a player from the Team? Who asked him his opinion? Let these idiots shut their mouth and concentrate on the game. The way they batted including the great Sachin brings shame to India. See Dravid who calls himself a veteran! His style of stoping the ball down to his feet is shameful technique. He thinks more about his title wall than to play positively for India. The way young Pujara got out shows how desperate he is to enter ODI team also! I am sure if they score 200 plus it is great under these circumstances

Cool kaushik. Idol worship in India spoils many sportsmen. Do not blindly support any cricketer. Worship their performance not person.

You are right. Tendulkar's delivery was way wide outside the offstump. And with so much of bounce it was the most childish thing to go for that shot. It must have been the pressure to score more. Pujara is still in ODI mood and not yet the patience to play in Test. VVS was the only sane person but his getting caught was an unlucky thing. Kudos to Tsotsobe for that catch. And Sehwag is fit only for 20-20 and ODI, wild shots, wilder attitude.

The other 10, excluding Dravid, they are not having sportsman spirit.

Anything above 250 is a good score for India and anything above 600 is a good score for SA.

We set such horrible benchmarks for ourselves. I wonder what they meant by good score. Good for Indian team to go back to the dressing room and eat, drink and be merry? 250 in a Test match is the worst score considering the fact that you have played for 2 whole days. This is the worst comment. SA would be playing with a ODI run rate of 5 rpo and here are our champions, struggling to maintain 2.5 rpo on a bouncy wicket.
