It again great time for Harbanjan, Zaheer and Ishant to show their batting skill first and then ... hope pitch added spearhead in their bowling to allow India WIN this Test match...
Will they(Sr. non performing players) be thrown out, the way BCCI terminated Saurav Ganguly's career, after India's dismal performance at Srilanka(where except Shewag no once played-but action was taken only against Ganguly)....This question will pain to lots of people here but folks its reality....

Ganguly retired on his own because he no longer enjoyed playing under Dravid and Kumble as captains. Anyway Ganguly was in much worse form than the other 3 seniors at that time. If Ganguly wanted to play test cricket he could still have stuck around for some time. But being financially secure he chose to retire because he prefeerd his family over hectic cricket. Besides, after Vengsarkar retired as chairman of selectors, K. Srikkanth who is now boss of selectors being from South would ever have dropped Dravid and Laxman anyway. It was Vengsarkar who wanted struggling seniors like Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman to retire at that time. The less said about that creep Vengsarkar the better. It is because of Vengsarkar's ugly politics (over emphasis of selecting useless players from Mumbai like Powar, Agarkar,Salvi,Dhawal Kulkarni,Nayar and others) a truly gifted player like Rahane from Mumbai is being consistently ignored today.

Yes Ganguly would have scored better than the senior players, but only in ODIs. He was an Ok player in tests, not exceptional.
Sachin Tendulkar and Dravid continued their poor run of form at Durban. They average 16.00 and 15.40 from seven and six innings at this ground respectively.

For your information, none of the Indian players, except Pravin Amre, have been able to score on this ground in so many series since 1993.

Do you think SA will bat so badly in the second innings also ????? India was lucky to have the wicket of Kallis in the first innings. If not the match would have had a different turn.
