ere is it how it all happened:
1.Haddin appeals for caught behind of bowling of R Harris.None of the other aussies inclusive of the bowler appeals. It goes to 3rd umpire and DRS.
2.Tony Greig on replay say since ball and bat are close ,it must have been a faint edge , Ian healy ( a keeper backs his community i.e Haddin, Mark Taylor says no edge and not out
3.Umpire has conveyed the decision to field umpire Dar.It is not out.
4.Ricky and P siddle remonstrate with Dar on that.Pictures of Ponting and his teammates watching the Channel 9 replay on big screen.Ricky is seen congratulating siddle rest of aussies including Harris and Haddin are not saying a single word.finger gesturing from siddle and ricky to umpire.
5.Ricky is talking to KP the batsman who says he do not know same as bfore the challenge made.
6.Greig, Taylor says the scene played out is not good for the game
7.Commentary change former captains Bill Lawry and Richie Benaud comes in.Lawry says you should never challenge an umpire once a decision has been made and he is correct. He is literally blastig Ponting.Benaud says what a poor appeal , only keeeper appealed ( He means to say it was not an edge as bowler not appealed.
9.Tony Greig the former Eng Captain is the one who offers some relief to ricky saying it is bad becuase these pictures make headlines in all papers. He is prepared to say there must have been a faint edge.
ALL former AUS Captains comes down heavily on ricky

english team
by KAILASH KUMAR on Dec 27, 2010 04:03 PM

In the contest of the ashes 2010, english team is looks like to win the ashes with all aspects of the game. if you notice one thing ponting is determined to win the match as he and his team is use to do it with sub-cintinent teams. unfourtunately strauss man is ready tocop any situation in match eccept last match in pearth.....where some johnson did the damage.
strauss looks so calm and not pussing extra pressure to his bowlers, that why they are performing their best......No doubt ponting is having a excelent captancy records.....that does not matter this time. his batsman lating him down...Bowler cant any thing when they have no cushion of runs. for england its a very good time to kill them in their own home.....good luck to strauss.....

Australia needs a miracle to save the test
by JAKE on Dec 27, 2010 03:50 PM

This test is England’s all the way. With three full days remaining and no hopes of rain or whatsoever, only a miracle can save Australia from losing this test and the series. It has been a magnificent and emphatic performance from England and full credit to their bowlers for leading the show. I thought Tremlett and Trott played superbly and in them, England have men who are gutsy fighters with the daring to fight all the way. No doubt, England is the best team in the world right now.

Australian coverage!!
by Srinivasan Krishna on Dec 27, 2010 11:29 AM  | Hide replies

I am bemused and now very much convinced about the Australian mentality to tom-tom their own as the greatest! First, before the point is missed, Ponting should be fined and penalized for a match or two for unbecoming and boorish behavior, with an umpire, when the referral has been turned down by the third umpire.betting back to the commentators Bill Lawry, Shane Warne et al. Phew! the Aussies have been bowled out and out batted to near submission so far in this test, and they go on and on about the Australian fight back! yes they took 5 wickets , but for about 170 odd runs and the lead is currently 265 runs! They talk of Prior taking his chances, but forget he is an accomplished batsman with a few notable test centuries! they keep talking about the controvercial deciison of the umpire to give Prior not out as Johnson had overstepped! This has happened to a few Indian bowlers during the India- Australia series, but never was commented as controversial! absolute rubbish and biased commentating! Australia are probably the biggest cry babies of sports that i have seen, and next to England and South Africa!

Whatever Ponting does is right.I,though Indian, aleways want Aussies to win even against India.Thats bcos I am an illegal immigrant in Australia working at McDonalds in Flinders Park,Melbourne.I live in a shanty sharing 2 rooms with 9 other illegals. But I live in eternal hope that one day I will get a legal visa and then PR in this amazing country.Maybe if I bad mouth my own country and flatter the whites it may come true.

Anyways you guys can cry all you want.Match referee is Ranjan Madugalle and he,like me,loves the Aussies.Remember he didnt touch Michael Slater for vicious verbal abuse of Rahul Dravid during a test in India, but punished the Indians for far lesser offences. He,like me,needs to keep the whites happy to retain his job.

TIME TO RETIRE PONTING
by DEEPAK PISHARODY on Dec 27, 2010 11:05 AM

Australians never have a good sportsman spirit and todays incident is another example of it.Ponting in particular highlights this Australian trait. One can never forget the 2007 Sydney test which India should have won but for the poor umpiring and alll the ugly incidents that followed.

Bravo England. Please pay well and beard the Lion in its own den.

Ponting's behaviour
by Raja on Dec 27, 2010 11:00 AM

Today there was one incident when ponting was arguing with the umpire for not giving pieterson out inspite of the umpire conferring it to the third umpire.Let us now see how the match referee reacts and they have always been biased against the aussies and for what has happened today for ricky ponting arguing for quite a longtime against the decision requires strict punishment. We all know aussies are bad losers and this is one more example to it.
