AG, Good to see you after a long time with a so much time to answer every post!! You haven't lost the sharpness of the sarcy bites!! :-)
In Telugu there is a proverb which roughly translates to attributing failure in dancing properly, on mridang(Drum like percussion instument)naming it faulty. Aussies' introspection is similar.
It is amazing. The thing which one should make one's head hang in shame is highlighted. The Aussies are proud of their capacity to sledge, which made them heros of cricket for a decade and a half. Now that it is not possible, they are drawing a blank. A frank admission, in deed. All the players and the arm-chair thinkers should now indulge themselves in speaking the foulest language to all around them and show how great cricketers they are!

Tsk tsk... you shouldn't berate our Bhajji, Ojha, Yuvi, Gauti etc. in this frank admission.... That's not foul language... its supposed to be a show of confidence and a resurgent Indian team, boss... :)

perfectly said. this is the most weird explanation of the success aussie's got. author is too afraid to admit that they do not have good players to fill the shoes of giants like warne, macgrath, waugh and gilli

Though warne, mcgrath etc players were great. The CA themselves are agreeeing that they won matches with sledging and Warne etc became so great with te help of success they got with sledging. Naturally, they used sledging when they had good batsmen on the other side and one such important wicket taken with sledging is good enough in every match to win it.

The fact is that cricket in Australia is on serious decline, it has lost its charm to sports of shorter durations. So, the best sport persons are not opting cricket in Australia.
Soon Australia will join the class of West Indies because of demise of cricket in their country. It will be like Indian hickey team of today.:-)

Shrikanth:
You are right. They are on a decline from their glorious past of 16 consecutive wins.
But as they showed in Perth, their currently rebuilding team still can shock the best that others have to offer...
You are free to write them off only to see them come back and pick up another Champions Trophy, during which too they were being written off exactly as you have written above...
If they continously win for 6 tests now, they would again start sledging. They were winning and they were sledging. If they never win, they would never sledge. Its the other way round.

they are badly missing that twelth element in the team.. SLEDGING.. must be feeling like fish out of water while playing.
With which some erstwhile greats like Mcgrath, Warne.. tarnished their image..
