Shame on Shah-Rat Power for holding test during Diwali
by Moshadi Maino on Dec 26, 2010 10:09 AM

Did you notice how BCCI forced our players to play on Diwali day?

Do you see SA scheduling a test match on Xmas day or even Xmas eve. Are Eng and Aus playing a test match on Xmas day or even Xmas eve? And those are secular countries too. In fact, this callous disregard for our players' families is deliberate, to show "who is boss".

Shame on you, Shah-Rat Power.

SHYAM TELKAR
India's 1st ranking in Test cricket
by SHYAM TELKAR on Dec 24, 2010 04:23 PM

Definitey India is deserved to be the 1st ranked team in test cricket. What happened in Centurion is a past & we'd like to forget it and prepare to come with full in Durban. I know India will make it 1-1 in Durban. Best of Luck to all team members. We support you all.

Lame excuses
by sakar panch on Dec 23, 2010 02:07 PM

Why are we giving such lame excuses. If the team can score in second innings why could they have not done it two days back in first innings? All this crap about tight home schedule is only to divert attention.

Also most importantly we should learn to value team accomplishments - we are stupid to celebrate individual milestones blissfully ignoring national interests. STOP

my thoughts
by chagger.here@rediffmail.com on Dec 23, 2010 11:43 AM

I believe test is a game in which batmen do not need to hurry.Players like Sehwag must reach a 50 then go on attacking the bowling.Play with a plan.
I felt gambir disapointing. He looked so uncomfortable against pace attack in the first inning that it could be easily predicted he would perish soon.Employ the experience mate.
rahul dravid comes from old school but he needs to pacen up his game.If after 4 hours he make very less contribution to the score board thats a worry because that pressures the other end batsman. Take singles trouble the bowler thats how things go
raina must be dropped. I would prefer Pujara or vijay.
bowling attack need not have newcomers on important tests. how simple..play them against bangladesh/ new zealand /or when India has won the series. why experiment in the game and now carry the pressure of first loss to coming tests

We failed psychologically
by Deep on Dec 22, 2010 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever justification given, the base factor lies at "Mind level". We Indians definitely have an inferiority complex. We failed at the psychological level, which caused the 1st innings debacle. To top that, our below par bowling dept. Pacers were just ordinary. Nothing worthy to mention about Harbhajan, the bowler. There is definitely something wrong about the Sardarji.
Finally, Sachin on day 5 disappointed us too. He could have tried at least like what Dhoni did in the first innings with the tail-enders. We were certainly not expecting a miracle to happen. But a normal fighting was expected.

awesome. brother this is what i wish everyone to be aware of. A fighting minnow like bangladesh and ireland has toppled many a fancied teams.
personally i feel, but for dravid, laxman, veeru, dhoni, gambir and the toiling bowlers with ball & bat, others are just for numbers. anything extra is a bonus

Poor Planning...!
by miviu on Dec 22, 2010 07:19 PM

Indian's should have planned for atleast couple of practice matches before test with SA..
Their application 'both bowlers and batsmen' was worse in the test match... though batting was better in 2nd innings, the stage wage already irrepairable.
Conceding 225 runs in a session indicates quality of our bowling attack.. which is also concern for remaing matches..
As plan-2 bowlers should have atleast tried to restrict the scoring rate..

Nevertheless, we cannot take away credit of SAs performance.... their pace-attack was outstanding..
