Pricing Policy

Difficult to expect any franchisee to buy Lara, Gilchrist, Lee, Marsh, Broad, Swann, Wright or Yardy for $400,000. Wonder how BCCI fixes the price! From the top bracket, only Jayawardene, Dilshan, Gayle, Pietersen, Vettori and McCullum can be expected to be bought.

Sachin should play only Test after WC
by aksriv on Dec 21, 2010 01:40 PM

Sachin for last two years has played only 14 test and scored 2383 runs at an whopping average of 89.62.... He scored 8 centuries during the same period. Is that not Bradmanesque???

He has played very few ODI's (apart from t20) and concentrated only for Test series. I can bet upon him that if he plays just test matches for next say 3-4 years against 2-3 opponents (Aus, Eng, SA,) his batting avg would be over 100 and not 99.96!

The point I am trying to make is in today's world there are so many distractions and distractors and this little genius has carried it so well and focussed only on his cricket.

Bradman was incomparable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by India on Dec 21, 2010 01:03 PM  | Hide replies

Bradman scored 29 centuries in 50 odd test matches he played.

Sachin scored 50 centuries in 175 tests

Had Bradman played 175 test he would have scored 110 centuries..(as compared to 50 by Sachin)

Sir Bradman with avg of 99 is far ahead of Sachin

Bradman played most important role in Australian victory more than his record..

Indians are simply not bothered about country's

victory but only trumpetting an individual

record of one person even if he fails to save a

humiliating innings defeat..........

This clearly says that you know nothing about cricket. My humble request is, just for sake of writing something on this page dont write nonsense. Can you check for the Bradman's records he has not played a single match outside Australia. Just playing on his home ground he has set this record. Thats not the case with Sachin

This is a really skewed analysis. I am pro Bradman (who was a phenomenon no doubt) and Surely Pro Sachin as well whom I've had the pleasure of watching from his first match.

But Bradman never played so many oppositions, under such varied playing conditions, traveled as much, had to handle the pressure of over a billion countrymen and play in two completely different formats of cricket (excluding T 20 format for now) as much as Sachin as done. There is no way of knowing if Bradman's body would have handled so much cricket for so long. SO LETS THROW AWAY THE COMPARISONS BETWEEN THESE TWO greats and celebrate both their achievements. ..............

Sir Bradman mostly played against England and on fewer grounds. If you keep on playing with limited opponents and grounds, I'm sure Sachin would have scored more with better average.
Its irrelevant to discuss this anyways, on top of in this forum.
You just don't sound a Cricket fan, but more of an anti-Sachin.

Ask Sachin too play only in few grounds every year against any one team. He will do better than Bradman.

Modern players have lots of comforts - helmets to protecting gears, video analysis of each and every player. So I still feel, Bradman's feet is remarkable. Sachin is best in this Era. These comparisons are like who is best Dilip Kumar or Sharuk Khan.
