Disappointed on the last day....
by antar jaal on Dec 21, 2010 04:06 AM  | Hide replies

I am a big fan of Sachin but he certainly disappointed me the last day by not farming the strike. To say the least he could have protected the tail enders a bit from the heat of the pace bowlers.....what's one not out in the huge number of innings he has had..he should have tried to get RSA to bat again...and if in that matter he got out so be it. Very disappointing..wish his 50th was a match winning inning but it is just a statistic (or at least that what he claims..he is not into numbers..so why didnt we try to avoid the innings defeat ?)

From a purely subjective perspective, what would that have achieved - in fact, if anything the bowlers got some much needed batting practice and had some of their shots come off then that would not only have been a confidence booster for them but also shown the more accomplished batsmen that the south african duo are not that unplayable after all. All in all, I think SRT did the right thing.

Besides, I don't think my cricketing faculties are qualified enough to second guess someone like SRT over a cricketing matter.

Sachin played for record
by kaushik das on Dec 21, 2010 02:46 AM  | Hide replies

If evryone played for their own record then India would not get all out at meager 136 in 1st innings and even at 2nd innnings they might have saved the Test match. At least their individual score would add to teams total.

You seem to be very sensible.
I appreciate your logic.

People always point out the mistake (some story which tells - When people are asked what they saw on the wall, they point out the black dot in the big big white screen. They can't see the white. But they can see the small microscopic dot. That's human nature).

People can't appreciate the living legend Sachin.

Why tour South Africa???!!!
by Junior Shelly on Dec 20, 2010 11:26 PM  | Hide replies

If Tendulkar's 5oth test century is important than India winning matches, then why the heck should the BCCI arrange tours to the nation with the strongest pace bowling attack?? Arrange tours to Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand or Sri Lanka instead.
