Tendulkar a curse to Indian cricket
by Sameer Joshi on Dec 21, 2010 08:07 AM  | Hide replies

I think Tendulkar is a curse to indian cricket, because whenever he scores India lose the match. He truely lacks leadership skills, he can only score whenever there is no pressure on him and he can't inspire other player to play good, just plays for his own record and is clone of Gavaskar.
look at his face as if he has won a marathon, he and all of the team should be ashamed of an innings defeat and shame on the media celeberating India's innings defeat what a disgrace.

This is Why Sachin is more than Team India
by super hero on Dec 21, 2010 02:55 AM  | Hide replies

Ask a random passer by, what would you ideally want from Team India?
A non fanatic might say World cup .
A fanatic might say No1 Test status and world cup.
A girl newbie fanatic might say T20 world cup.

And if you ask them why?
Answer: It will make Indians proud. A non-fanatic might not even know
for how many years we have a world cup.All they know is its a big cup
and it will make us proud.

Why are these important anyways? We gave a world cup champion for
every 4 years. T20 chapmions for every 2 years. Constant doubts over
our No1 status and might not hold onto it for more than 2 years.

20 years down the lane, whats so great about winning 2 world cups
(1983,2011) out of 10 world cups so far and almost most of the countries
will have the similar record.Whats so great about winning 2011 world cup?
Indian are champions from 2011-2015. And that too if we loose 5-2 to Aus or
SA, we cant even call them champions for 4 years.

Notable achievements that come to my mind till now
1983 world cup, Titan cup,Hero cup, 96 SF,Sharjah cup,
Natwest trophy, 2003 Finals,T20 World cup,CB Series,No1 Test status.
Except for No1 status, most countries have similar achievements.
But then we have 'SACHIN'.The best bastman ever(Only Bradman can contest).
Most of his records will stay alive forever(If you are cricket fanatic,
then u will know that most of them are impossible to break).A poll in
australia twice this decade said Sachin is the current best player.Ponting
was no-where near in those polls. Current and ex-crickets, commenattors,
coaches, umpires and everyone alround the world praise him as the best.
That makes me an Indian proud. He is like Dhanychand of Cricket.
He is like a Schumacher ,a Pele, a federer, a Tiger woods.
50 years from now, Indian cricket might become like our Hockey.
Usa, Canada,Ireland,Afghanisthan might be top 4 teams.Your Grand children
might not follow cricket, but they sure will be surprised and happy to hear
that the best player, holder or most runs, centuries is an INDIAN.
He is a phenomenon that happend once in a life time.
I cherish a century from Sachin more than an Indian victory.
This is the reason why.

Which country do you belong to? If my guess is right you belong to a country where taking pride in fellow countryman's achievement is a reason to mourn and taking pride in match fixing is an achievement.

Your comment "Indians should improve their thinking" is most unfortunate. My reply to this is "Indians like you should learn to take pride in fellow countrymen". Scoring 50 hundreds is in itself is a milestone and no one in the history has achieved so far.

The reason for people in other countries to look down on Indians is because you people like you.

Now let us come to statistics. Sachin has played 175 matches with an average of 56.91 and 50 hundreds. Kallis has played 143 matches with average of 56.82. No doubt Kallis is a great player but we will have to his record when he plays 175 matches. If you have any knowledge of the game of cricket you would know how difficult it is to maintain such an average after playing 175 matches.

I have great regards for Kallis and do not wish to undermine his efforts but as an Indian I will definitely take pride in fellow Indian's achievements which you need to learn.

If you are so disappointed being an Indian, why are you here? Try living in any other country and change your nationality and citizenship and you will know what it means to be foreigner. IMPROVE YOURSELF.

So do you mean Mr. Morkel's 5 wickets didn't mattered? all those other centuries didn't mattered? It was just Kallis who won it for SA? other 10 SA players were sitting ducks (like those 10 Indians on the other side)?

Man, you are doing the same thing that others are. Please, please understand that it's a TEAM game and if majority of players perform team wins. It's not about 1 player... on any side.

How many more matches India has to lose, for Sachins record sake
by Suresh Kalmadi on Dec 20, 2010 02:55 PM  | Hide replies

21 Years for 50 Centuries - That means 2.5 Centuries every Year.

175 Tests for 50 Centuries - That means in every 3.5 Tests he scored 1 century.

This is good, but definitely not great.
Also, stats clearly show, he has played very very few match winning knocks.

Forget Bradman, even Sehwag is way ahead.

INDIA LOST TODAY TOO

9 Years for 22 centuries = 2.44 centuries per year.

84 tests for 22 centuries = 3.81 tests per century.

Longevity? 9 years vs 21 years?

Is this the statistics you used to prove that Sehwag is better than Sachin?

He is good and one of the bests from India... but when you dwarf Sachin in front of him you are just showing your illiteracy about cricket.

See, these guys are like a failed mentality people. They hate the leader because they want to hate him. They don't have a reason to do that.. and don't even need it!

It's just their frustration they want to take out. frustration of failures, the expectations they couldn't met, jealousy of success and so on...

All we can do is correct their claims so that they try to find out something new for next time and some day we will get a real good point to think over and discuss. :)

This means throwing wicket like Shewag, Gambhir, and Dhoni are good.... Even Ishant faced 50 odd balls, which Raina and Laxman did not ..

No idea why people blame always Sachin..if he did not made this century then the match would have been finished on 4th day itself..

If you do not respect the respected person then believe me you are not going to get at any time..

Hi Everyone

Thumb rules followed by all Sachin bashers(aka irrational fools)

a) If Sachin scores and India loses, they say "Sachin could not save India"
b) If Sachin scores and India wins, they say "What is the big deal, that is what he is supposed to do"
c) If Sachin scores and the match ends in a draw, they say "Sachin plays for records"
d) If sachin does not score and India loses, they say "Sachin did not perform under pressure"
e) If sachin does not score and India wins, they say "No contribution fron Sachin, so he must quit"
f) If sachin does not score and the match ends in a draw..well I dont know what they wud say

Bottom line - Sachin cannot do anything right. Criticize him as much as u can.
My request to all of them - Pls continue to do so for our entertainment. Life is too boring without humour. So please continue to provide us with your jokes by making senseless statements about SRT.

Mr. BISHAN SINGH BEDI....

You are a ordinary guy to congratulate Sachin…don’t think that you are extra ordinary..

What about your best friend MURALIDHARAN ?

He is the highest wicket taker in the test matches…800 wickets in 133 international test matches and 515 wickets in 337 one day international matches. Whereas you took only 266 wickets in 67 international test matches & 7 wickets in one day international matches.. its shame on you….don’t make comment on Murali in future..He is extra ordinary..

Perfect for the master of records. Yet again he does this in a draw or a losing cause. True to form, these 'records' never come when India needs them to win.

Record after 'record'. Fawning adulating masses that cheer such achievements. SRT fanboys always take it personally.

No audience for tests anyway. Game played by 7 countries. Records at home or on flat pitches only. What's a rising ball? don't ask SRT cos he hits only miaow bowlers.

Overrated. the world's greates non-matchwinner across sports. No one cares abt SRT outside his Indian following, a following that knows no real heroes.
