pure talent is nothing at the international level. It is the attitude and dedication which sets great sportsman (Tendulkar) apart from merely good ones (Ponting). Search harsha's talent vs attitude video on youtube to understand the difference between tendulkar and ponting.

Ponting is a talented player, but 100% true he not above talented than Sachin. I can also rated him below than Kalis in Test arena. And, when we talk about good sports manship, he is not even 20% equal to Sachin. You can see Day 2 in 3rd Ashes Test, to understand what ugly sports person he is.
And, talking about luck, I certainly remind you he was in honeymoon period during McGrath, Warne, Gilli, Hayden, Bevan time. Now, his honeymoon period is over, that is why people like you feel that he is going through bad phase.

Sachin is not very talented in Test. Pls check his records..I believe Gilly, Kallis, Hayden, Steven Waugh, are the best in test. Sachin was always good on Indian pitches.. I think the best Indian test cricketer playing now is Laxman and Kumble may be in the last 15 yrs.. And poting is better than Sachin becos he has played crucial innings in Test Matches

after losing the Ashes test in England before 3 Years Ponting didn't sleep well till next Year Ashes and the Kangroos won the 5-0 Series which was Shane, Mcgrath retired after that
That shows Pontings Professionalism towards cricket and he is Best Captain and Player
Even in this they will piutch in back wait and see
