take a break, just wait and watch, SA was lucky to win toss on a damp pitch. No South African will say to their team that they can win on seamer friendly pitches and not on Indian dust bowls

The tiger Shewag, rubber mouth Gambir, Flat pitch hero Raina -all looked as jokers in front of real fast bowling by South Africa.

Whenever we fail abroad in places like africa or australia, the BCCI is blamed by former cricketers and the media for not having sent the team members earlier and getting used to conditions. But now, they have no such excuse. The main problem is lack of technique as our ranji games are played on dead as dodo tracks and matches decided based on first innings lead.

yes they do ramakrishnan. We did not have prep matches. They got used to the climate but not the bowling. No substitute to match practice.

Why blame only these guys when almost every batsman has failed! I think the main problem with indians that they hardly play the hook or the pull shots against fast bowlers, be it in a test match or even an ODI. On a lively wicket such as this one where there is lot of bounce, these guys come a cropper. The bowlers have to just bowl short knowing very well these guys cant play the hook shot. This has been a problem with us since time immemorial with the exception of mohinder amarnath who was one of the best players of the hook shot. We will continue to fail till we our guys practice the hook shot and play it selectively.

Where do we have the opportunity to play the hook or the pull growing up ?. Even for the ones that do, it is to ball that comes at a slow pace. So this is just a get adjusted to thing. Dont be foolish to write them off and judge.
