I agree the points, except one.
Aus. never won matches without huge help spinners (i am talking about the Warne era only) in india, pak or SL.

But agree that India's strength is spinners and Aus pacers.. ALWAYS. Not only now. Even Kapil was there, spinners were doing well for india in tests. Likewise, even Aus were having McGrath, Warne was performing well at the other end.

So Aust. doesn't have a replacement of Warne as India have no replacement for Kapil. Agreed. But India keeps winning now.. but Aus. Not. That is my point.

Warne
by Ruler on Dec 14, 2010 03:31 PM  | Hide replies

Warne is the only spinner who can turn the ball on any wicket. And his action is also clear - never called for chucking. Successful in profession and failed in personal life.

Kumble is second to him, even though he is not a big turner, his line, length and bounce made the difference. Successful in profession and personal life.

I like both of them. New generation; India has many spinners in making, but Australia donnt have even one competitive.

india will rule world cricket for many years more....!! Jai hind.

i agree with you dr.L.

Kapil, Sachin, V.Richards, Hardly, Warne etc. are exceptional.
When Kapil was playing we were standing at no. 6 or 7 in odis and tests. It doesn't mean that Kapil was not playing good. cricket is a team game..
Kapil is become great due to th WC victory in 83.

not really , I commented on BOWLERS.

Basically you were commenting on how Aus doesn't have a recplacement for Warne.
I commened that we don't have a replacement for Kapil dev either

Going by compisition : Aus tends to depend on Pacers more and we depend on Spinners WAY more

Aus can take 20 wickets using pace bowlers in india , but you would struggle to take 20 wickets in AUS using spinners.

Aus attack relies on Pace , hence lack of quality spinner won't affect them as bad as lacking a quality pacer

sameer,
Its been a long time since AUS took 20 wickets in India.........whether pace or spin..........and as of now they do not have a single bowler who can pick up 4 -5 wickets in an inns

Shame on Ozs
by Dr Love on Dec 14, 2010 03:30 PM  | Hide replies

Ruling d world for two decades, d Ozs fans r feeling d heat now.. n r looking for scape goats.. i wish this time around they will loose badly the Ashes at home and there proud come to dust... because generally Ozs sung only one song that "we r the champians, we r d champions" but without the greats like Warney, Mcgrath, Waughs, Haydens, Gilly and Lee... the are no more Champions and rather have become a bunch of Chimpanzees...

Warne Come back

I can not understand why the Cricket fans of Australia are thinking about Warne's return so much , the real cause of their problem is the selector Greg Chappal , who single handedly destroy any best team in the world

Warne's 5 great special abilities:
by Indian Saint on Dec 14, 2010 02:21 PM  | Hide replies

1. Penetrate against any defence
2. Impart a much higher degeree of spin on various types of balls- old, new, used
3. Dry or Wet pitch- doesn't matter to him- he is equally comfortable.
4. He can spot a victim quickly- then aggressively gets the target doen on knees.
5. He can shine the balls for others- if needed

That's a good one, Indian Saint !

I'd like to add further :

Forget Duke, SG or Kookaburra balls, he can even spin the "Liz Hurley" ball in from way outside the leg stump.

If CA makes Warne the captain for rest of the series he'll definitely comeback, why Ponting was successful because of the bunch of good players he had in his regime and we witnessed what warne can do as a captain when he crowned the inexperienced, unknown but tallented Rajasthan Royals as Champions in IPL's 1st edition.Warne is a big motivator, unselfish unlike Ponting.
