No thought of quitting???
by Wonder Fool on Dec 11, 2010 09:39 PM  | Hide replies

But CA(Cricket Australia) may have other thoughts...Even Steve Waugh didnot think of quitting ODI's and was hoping against the hope till the last moment to be a part of World Cup squad of 2003. But that never happened.

So Ponting Baba....no one knows what is in store for you after World Cup...

Things have changed buddy!!

Australia are not potent any more. Infact they are not able to find replacements.

S.Waugh's case was different. During those times Australia had three sides which could beat any team in the world.

Did McGrath retire early for Hilfenhaus or Bollinger ?

Did Warne retire early for Hauritz and Doherty ?

Did Hayden retire early for Shaun Marsh or Hughes ?

Did Steve Waugh retire early for Micheal Hussey ?

Why is not Ponting retiring for David Hussey ?

plz dont quit captaincy ir dont retire, bcoz if u do so then we will miss the opportunity to see u kicked out from ur own team mates and we are really waiting to see that, and we will be very sad if u spoil our party by retiring own ur own.so i suggest plz continue playing till the WC and when ur team exits from the first round then ur own people will kick u out from the team

I agree with Gatting that Ponting should quit captaincy and focus on his batting to extend his career.

This way he can extend his career and score heavily again as he used to in his pomp.

Ricky, i feel, will quit as captain on his own after next year's World Cup.

Captain is as good as a team
by common man on Dec 11, 2010 07:17 PM  | Hide replies

Ponting hasn't been tested for captaincy skills at all as he always has match winners & they can turn the match on its had at any given time. Nowww he hasn't have luxury of MWs & its hightime now for Ponting to show his captaincy skills which he hasn't able to show yet.

Agreed, when Ricky had the services of stalwarts like Warnie, McGrath, Gilchrist, Hayden, etc, Australia could win matches with ease. They were all magical players who come once in a while, now all are gone and present team has barely few match winners like them.

Current Aussie team is just a good team, not the great team it was once.

I think Ricky Ponting should retire as he is 36 already and make way for talented youngsters as we all know Australia boost of good bench strength.
