sachin may hav been hit on the helmet but this would hav happened many times over his career during nets. i do not think age is catchin up and affecting his game, records show that clearly. its good that indians are preparing to face the worse, v wont lose one test if we prepare like this.
Age is catching up. The bouncy wickets and pacers like dale Steyn Mornie Morkel will trouble him. My hope is more on Sehwag and to some extent on Dravid and Laxman. Raina, Gambhir and Dhoni will fail.
we have the whole world raining praises about him..And Lara/Richards and even the Don himself saying he is the best and still ppl have doubt..Cant help it..cant convince everyone as even GODs existence is challenged untill today....So tendulkar is just a cricket player..I dont know whats the problem with some in India..We have such a player with us and all are finding whats wrong with him..He is also a human (Even thoug ppl call him GOD)hand mistakes do happen once in a while...Imagine if England or Aussies ahd a player like him,..They would be blowing trumpet on mount everest!!! 1)Did you find any batsmen on this earth who have played for 20years in international cricket with same concentration??
2) How did you claim that great batsmen like Bradman and Gavaskar never gets hitted on their head?? 3) How many on this forum have seen live when Gavaskar was playing??
4) It seems as Sachin had committed mistake by getting hurt.
5) Without good technical backup no batsmen can score consistently for 20 years.
I am not one of those Sachin bashers...just for the sake of it. No doubt he is a fine batsmen. But there were technical weaknesses in his batting since ages, which were camouflaged by the huge run of scores on flat Indian pitches. His average in SA is around 30 odd. And except england 2008, has he delivered anytime on 4th innings pitches? Even abroad, his highest scores have come in sydney,adelaide etc, where we saw the other day even cook makes a 200! He is a run acumulator more than a match winner, and its players like Sehwag who scores on all types of wickets even though hes a stroke maker. Since even a umesh jadav troubled him, i think he was very luck not to play much vs windies in the 90s, where he would have to face ambrose,walsh or paksitan where wasim,waqar would have tested him. Donald,mcgrath,pollock have troubled him enough and since nowadays we have no great pacemen, he continues to make huge scores against the likes of dammika,hilfenhus,siddle,broad,etc

@sandeep. You are absolutely right. Only a technically weak batsman gets bowled so often and gets hit on his head. I can recollect at least 10 times that Sachin was hit on the head. If the same had happened to Gavaskar and Richards, they would not have survived since they did not use a helmet. So had Sachin played in that era, he would not have lasted 2 games. Forget about Bradman era which was even tougher.

He has issues with the moving ball and that too early on. Also with the reversing ball. But so does almost all other batsmen. He is no God if that is what you are after. He is technically a very good batsman. Your logic is similar to the ones who has made him fake god.

I am not a sachin fan, but please be matured to understand that everybody and everything is Relative in this big world. Bradman will be having lots of weakenesses when technically compared with modern days cricket.
Similar with Sachin, man is not without flaws. But still he is far better than his colleagues at the moment

Sachin is not far better than his Indian colleagues. If he was how come he is averaging about the same no. of runs per innings as Dravid, Sehwag and Gambhir in tests and less than Dhoni is ODI? If you are talking about non-Indians, Kallis,Jayawaredene, Sanga, Ponting and a couple of others average what Sachin is doing. So clearly at best he can be amongst the top 10 and not #1.

See one thing you got realize is that on flat wickets the guy who comes early on and scores gets the biggest chance. Only when the conditions are tough and top order departs is when the others normally get chance to score big ones. But when they fail in those tough situations, they are deemed inferior to the top order. SO it is not all black and white.

We are not better in cricket than Lara who praise Sachin and says he is modern times Bradman.He has played all great pace ballers with dignity and is definitely No.1 There is no point in discussing about techniques since we are too samll to comment upon it. He plays well in 20 20, fifty foifty and also test matches. This is the fact we should admitt it.

Hi Sandeep, Good Observation..When it comes to Test match..yeah you are right he is not the best. Infact pls check the stats below I prepared Sachin in Aus , also check Dravid or Laxman or Shewag.

Pls observe the above stat.If u remove hist 200 and other innings of Sydney the Avg drops.
Also Pls dont forget his slow 200 in Sydney in 2003-2005, we could have win this series. There wickets and Sachin could have played a attacking innings, hist first 3 matches were failure, so he wanted to prove a point. FInally Parthiv got all the blame for missing steve catch. What we needed was 30 overs to win that match.
sachin ramesh tendulkar cant handle umesh yadav on bouncy tracks..he always scores on flat phatta tracks...what kind of great batsman he is?..and it shame that some idiots campares this flat track bully to sir don bradman...recently lara said he is bradman of present era..this must be joke of the century.

You should pity yourself sahoo. Kalyani is absolutely right. Sachin is a flat track bully. There are almost 50 others who have scored hundreds in Perth Vs Aus and Sachin is just one of them. Guys like Gavaskar, Lloyd, amarnath scored in Perth when it was much quicker wicket there.

Why should it matter if a poster on this forum cannot pad up and bat in Perth of anywhere. It's not his job. However, when somebody like Sachin is picked to represent our country, it's not too much to ask in asking him to play selflessly. People like Sachin have destroyed Indian cricket for 20 years. If not, we would have being #1 from 1990's or at least won the WorldCup a couple more times. Sachin's legacy is choking in the finals of a worldcup and getting out after scoring a hundred to let India lose to Pakis in Chennai. Now we can add, getting tonked on the head by a teenager, LOL :)

To hit Sachin on the head you need a yorker and not a bouncer. People who say he scored 100 in Perth should also look at others who scored centuries there like Fleming, Adam Parore, Amarnath, Gavaskar, Ijaz Ahmed and many others. So nothing great about scoring 1 hundred in Perth.

A well directed bouncer cannot just sail over the batsman and the keeperi The batsmen need to fear for lives, like the Murtaza bouncer that broke Dravids jaw
If Umesh Yadav has the ability to create uneven bounce (or was it due to the strip thats purposely prepared by Kirsten)..then I'm really happy, that India has real good seamer..
