great great year for Sachin and exactly opposite for Ponting... As Gilly said after his retirement about that infamous Sydney test, Ponting will have to accept and should come forward to make a statement, "that they played unfair really unfair.."
Ponting never scored 100 in India and defeated India on India Soil in test matches. This will be his most disappointment of his career even though he lifted 2 WCs. he is a great player but not the best, best player comes with quality behavior which ponting always lacks bcoz of his attitude. On the other hand Sachin is THE BEST player of all time, has every achievements including ODI series win in Australia with 1 ODI century that to on chasing. It has put all bad remarks on Sachin. Sachin will be same as ponting if 2011 WC is not win by India... with disappointment sachin has to leave his Cricket life. Also on next visit to Australia for Test series.

brush up your memory. on 9th October 2008, he scored a century [123] @ M.Chinnaswamy Staium, Bangalore against us. Ofcourse he has failed to win a single test against us.
All goodthings have to come to an end someday. and surely this is the end of ponting,s test future. maybe he can look at few hundreds before the end of ashes and leave on a high
Though Ponting lifted two WC trophies, it was more of strong team which made him win the titles. Without Hayden, Gilchrist, Warne & McGrath; Australian team is nothing.
Mark Taylor was pioneer who built strong Australian team & Steve Waugh took it to the next level making them invisible. Ponting enjoyed fruits of past captains' efforts & nothing else.

All the cricket playing nations will agree that Australian Captian Ricky Ponting is the good cricketer of the modern era. Coz... he is the one who holds most run getter after tendulkar, I think after the world cup thetime has come for ricky ponting to quit from the ODI.
