No Pace Bowler excep Zahir
by Partha Pratim Dey on Dec 11, 2010 12:03 AM

We have no good pace bowler except Zahir right now. BCCI should think to bring some good pace bowler before WC, seems not possible.

@Raja - I believe Yousuf Pathan or Ashwin are better than Jadeja. I agree with you that Jadeja got too many chances unnecessarily.

need for accurate reporting
by amey pandit on Dec 10, 2010 09:59 PM  | Hide replies

the first thing is, the match reports sound so awfully hasty. sometimes i feel, does it require to be so superquick, i mean they r not even naming the players right. yusuf patel? who the hell is yusuf patel? leaves a bitter taste in mouth this sort of reporting. and there is hardly any analysis. what is written is all we've seen. get a grip reporters

Absolutely spot-on. Just gives an impression of an overzealous attempt to rush in some kind of report and sit pretty with "see, I told you first, now give me a brownie". Dont you have any expert to do an analysis? I am ignoring the stupid bloopers you bring in your reports - after all, we all are humens and humens meks mistooks, you knows?

Absolutely true...here's another one "New Zealand returned home with a single victory in the Indian tour, having earlier lost the Test series 1-0. The Kiwis suffered a clean sweep for the second consecutive series, having earlier lost 5-0 in the ODI series in Bangladesh and the selectors will have a lot of thinking to do ahead of the World Cup."...when they lost all matches then what was the single win that New Zealand had on this tour?

Now that so many youngsters have performed, will the BCCI finally boot the trash out in the form of Ravindra Jadeja... or the blue eyed boy of the selectors still be included in the world cup?

New Zealand returned home withOUT a single victory in the Indian tour, having earlier lost the Test series 1-0. The Kiwis suffered a clean sweep for the second consecutive series, having earlier lost 5-0 (4-0, ONE ODI WAS WASHED OUT) in the ODI series in Bangladesh and the selectors will have a lot of thinking to do ahead of the World Cup.

OOD at Chennai
by Hariharan shankaran on Dec 10, 2010 09:01 PM

The entire Tamil Naadu was battered by rain and the entire OOD in such a condition is simply a waste of money for everybody. For such an early exit from the stadium many have to cook for their dinner after going back home and the poor vendors at the stadium would not have thought that their sales will wrap up so early. It was a test for test's sake

i thk they have good potential but when time is not ur then this happend

WAS IT A TRUE PREPARATION FOR WC?
by Ranganath S on Dec 10, 2010 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

While losing the test as well as one-dayers, NZ looks to be a no-no team for WC preparations and we have the recent results in front of us. In no way this can be called a symptom of winning the WC as only winning against NZ is not the final of the WC...we should have a mini WC experience with the most toughest team and prove with them by winning...then the true colors will be OUT and we can dream about taking home the WC...

it would be stupid to even put the SA series as a basis of team selection ahead of the world cup. The world cup is playing in INDIA ! in INDIAN conditions. So whatever happens in the 3 tests and 5 ODIs in SA is irrelevant. That is why this NZ series was so vital in every respect no matter how many feel the kiwis offered less challenge.

two good things out of this series..
by Nayak on Dec 10, 2010 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

well, it is satisfying to win against NZ at home. however, there two good things came out of this series are:

1) we hope not to see that constipation face of Ravindra Jadeja anymore. thanks to Y Pathan. i hope Y Pathan will stay stronger and win many more matches for india.

2) i hope not to see that K Srikanths chicken, Dinesh karthik. thanks to Parthiv Patel.

i still feel that, instead of Saurab tiwari, we could have taken Irfan pathan because he can hot and bowl as well. anyway, it is time to give more chances to new comers.

I guess credit goes to Dhoni then. Had he not asked for a break, Gambhir would have never been captain and Dhoni's fav Jadeja would have played all 5 matches. So thank god Dhoni got a break and hopefully we will get a break from Jadeja.

Yes you are right bro... Yusuf Pathan and Parthiv Patel should only be the additions to an otherwise strong Indian squad. Ravi Jadeja and Dinesh Karthik should never play for India again simply due to the excessive opportunities provided to them.
