Dhoni is the best cricketer to have represented India in the last 25 years along with Saurav, Dravid and Kumble.
Sachin, Zaheer, Bhajji would probably make the second grade.
There has been a lot of comparison whether Sachin is indeed the greatest ever. The following thoughts should end it:
1)During Bradman's era, there was no LBW virtualy(umpires gave less) . That means, out of 280 innings which Sachin has played, 67innings are LBW, 14 innings bowled..that means Sachin in those ocassion he can be not out.
2) Bradman much talked average of almost 100 was maintained bcoz he played only 52 test matches , had he had played more than 100 tests , as per law of averages, it wud hav come down to around 50 , so don't be fooled by avg of 100.
3) Bradman played one opponent mainly..England. Sachin against 10 countries and he has excellent records against each of them, with 50 plus avg against the best(aussies).
4) Bradman didnt travel to the subcontinent, so didnt play high class spin. In contrast tendulkar dominated warne, saqlain etc. Great player of spin, pace and swing!
5) Bradman didnt have the pressure of ODIs and 2020s.Tendulkar not only played record no of ODIs but also is the leading runs and century scorer. Mind boggling to go alongwith 15000 plus test runs
6) Bradman didnt have the pressure of 1 billion. In india, 1 billion pray that SRT scores big every time he walks out.
7) No media to rip Bradman. While aajtak, and other crappy channels blast tendulkar for any failure.

All your points also apply to Kallis, Ponting, Jayawardene, Sanga, Smith except for #6. That also balances out since you say 1billion pray for Sachin but nobody prayed for the others but they still performed.
If at all anyone is better than Bradman as a cricketer it should be Kallis. He not only has an average equal to Sachin in ODI and tests and 20-20 but also about 500 international wickets and 170 test catches.
Even here your argument does not hold that Sachin is better. To me Dravid is a better batsman than Sachin and Gavaskar was India's best.

I agree with points 3,5 and 6 but not with the rest . 1) LBW rules were different but LBW was still there and bowled most certainly was present . 2) It was because he was consistent over such a long time that he is considered great . I don't see how the law of averages ( which in anyway is a stupid idea ) would bring Bradman's average down to 50 , 4) Bradman did play high class spinners like Verity and was considered good against them .7) Bradman did have his critics in the media including his previous colleagues Fingleton and Miller and they were quite savage in their criticism of him .

for ur information there was no helmet all around body paddings whic tendulakr enjoys... dont ever compare Bradman with any of today's cricketers..

Not 1 billion...40 percent of the population in living below poverty lines, and most of them doesnt care about cricket or anything. you can majority of people... but for sure not 1 billion.

Bullshit, no more debate or discussions. The following three are the best with Sehwag and Kallis in the top.
1. Sehwag is next to bradman considering the way he dominates the bowling, 2 fast triples,15 fast 150 scores etc. 2.Kallis for his allround capatibilities with great batting and bowling averages. 3.And sangarakka.
Sachin is no way near to the above three in dominating bowlers, scoring big hundreds consistently and winning/saving matches

Agree with Prasheen. He has made great choices but I would add Viv Richards as the second to Bradman in batting.
Tendulcar is much batter than hyped Bradman. Bradman got more hype since he is Austrlian. Except South Asian every country projects their heros as real hero.

Can't comment on a batsman I never saw playing. But Bradman must be really damn good for english team to device bodyline, no wonder he was like a hero back then. Imagine you as a batsman know that the bowlers are hostile and getting on to you to actually hurt you. back then they didn't have protective gear like helmets, elbow pads and rib gaurds. Must be a strong man mentally to keep his fears away a still score runs like he did. Just trying to imagine if bowlers like Shoaib Akthar,Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram were gunning like that at sachin without much protective gear.

Sachin would have never left the pavillion if he did not have protective gear. In one instance Sachin walked when he was not even out. That was when dope Akthar was bowling very fast. Sachin was really scared. There is no comparison between a legend like Bradman and an ordinary player like Sachin.

Not true that. I commented on DMK, Raja, Pietersen, England team, Saina and many others this month.

King of Good times? LOL. That is so apt for Sachin. When everyone scores and the pitch is easy he scores. When everyone fails and they need him to contribute, he fails. King of good times indeed!!

@Srini Krish. Happy to see that I am not the only sensible Indian out there. A lot of people share my views. Sachin is not only a burden to watch but also a burden to the team and to the tax payer.

what A team? India A or the team with SRT in it? If SRT, that means more record. who cares who wins?

yes but still they are not able to convert that insult to thumping victories...
