Australia was never a great Side! They were struggling to win untill Allan Donald helped them cross the line..
After that, their Arrogance was confused as confidence by themselves and others, along with poor teams world wide.. that helped them win many matches..Also Thanks for Uncle steve! Buckk
I wish MARSHAL, HOLDING, GARNER and bowled to J0kers Steve wag, and company and Wish Richards faced Mc Grass..

Yeah... whatever...
If you think Steve Waugh (note the spelling) was a j0ker and McGrath was a Ranji bowler; I can only wish you luck in your journey to learn something about this sport called Cricket... ;-)
so far , He has failed 2 win any test match 4 us against our arch rival pak...he shud learn frm piterson...onyl avregaes 40 against pak playing against akhtar...
Australia is scared of English bowling was evident after they prepared slowest tracks ever for 1st test & played totally defensive cricket even after dismissing them for 250.England will annihilate Aussies in this series by 3-0 & rub it into Macgrath for his 5-0 comment.Well done England & go for kill in 3rd test.
"Sledging" was their all rounder who helped psyche out opponent batsmen. But the moment Umpires and Cricket Administrations all over started having a closer look at things being practiced on the field, and the moment when opponents also started paying back in the same coin, it evenned out. Now it is just true grit, determination, skill at play and the best team possessing these wins.

I think you missed the most important thing.. Match and Spot Fixing which was not there when West Indies and Aussies were Number 1.

Betting and fixing were there when Aus was no.1. During WI golden era, there were still betting, but fixing was not there to any significant extent. Post 1987 world cup in India, it became the monster.

Oh what an analysis.... Clearly Warnie, McGrath, Hayden, Slater, Waugh, Gillespie, Lee, Gilchrist etc. had nothing to do with the Aussie success of the past.... eh? ;-)

No, cricket was once most popular game in Australia. But it has lost its popularity to games of shorter duration. In the last one decade Football, Hockey, rugby have outclassed cricket in ANZ and this game has been relegated. So, best sportsmen are not chosing this game as career.
This is similar to West Indies, the success of Carl Lewis in 1984 Olympics saw carribean athletes joining US Universities in a big way.
Chappell and Botham were both asking for alms (bheekh). As soon as I came out of stadium, both came to me with their bowls. When I took out a 10 dollar note, they started fighting.
I slapped both of them and told them to stop behaving like school kids. They both came to tears and then said sorry, touched my feet and asked for forgiveness.
I gave them both 5 dollars. They both were happy and said sir you Indians are really our paymaster now.
