you are right about fixing in Footie. FIFA awarding the WC to Russia (Mafia state) and Qatar (oil bearing rich state) was fixed. England was and should have been awarded this... FIFA,chors,

thats rampant in football matches too . The Italian police caught a big mafia ring operating in the serie A matches in italy , which is their premier football league . every franchise was fined

Cricket would always rule is ok....why 'it should'??

Do you even understand the global popularity of football? How many countries play cricket? Is that a global sport at all?

FORGET COMMON WEALTH GAME AND LOOK AT LEAST ASIAN GAMES
by subrata banerjee on Dec 03, 2010 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

Cricket is not at all an international game. This game is restricted with commonwealth countries and that too at present mainly funded by India. See the performance of India in Common wealth games and see the medal tally of India in Asian games. And what to speak of world championship games or Olympic games. India's medal tally will bot be there at all or at best with one or two personal extreme outstanding performance of one or two individuals. But we are shouting and patting our back that we are world chanmpion chricket team (WHICH WORLD, WITH SOME COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES). Do we see the worst performance of indian hockey team and foot ball team in the broader spectrum. A most pathetic but our businessmen only invest (OR GAMBLE)in cricket which carries no value, and no information to rest of the world other than a few common wealth countries. This is very sad and our government should stop this and concentrate more on important games like hockey, football, boxing, badminton, tennis, gymnastic, archery ,shooting, and so on. This is useless to invest money against THE GAME LIKE CRICKET WHICH HAS LOST ALL CHARMS AND NOW YOU SEE THE GAME HAS NOW TURNED AS GAMBLING WITH 20:20 GAME. IS NOT IT? PLEASE THINK MY BROTHERS AND CREATE PUBLIC DEMAND TO KEEP AND CONCENTRATE MORE ON OTHER WORLD FAVORITE GAMES RATHER THAN CRICKET.

Let us support cricket and only cricket so that it remains a gambling den and all other sports are saved.

Good observation. Failure is 'part' and 'parcel of 100'. If you recieve your parcel of 100 then it is good but if you recieve only part of it you fail.
