Overrated and overhyped!
by sandeep kumar on Dec 02, 2010 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

So amusing to see the reaction of the Aussie press to their overrated team, filled with players like Johson, hilfenhaus who the Indians easily brushed aside in 2008 and last month. Werent they the same press which questioned Indias rise to No1, forgetting the fact that Indians had won both home and abroad? they cant digest the fact that Indias bench strength in bowling and batting is far better than anything the Aussies come up with. Proof: Pujara,Yuvraj, kohli,Mishra,Piyush, etc in the bench. And who do we have in Oz: Doeherty, ferguson,Mckay who are average at best. The AUssie press projects some of these as world beaters and the same guys end up losing both test and odi series last month in india, and concede 500/1 last week! They need a dose of humility and accept that their rightful position is No5,below India.

Sundeep Kumar:

:) seems you read the Oz press quite regularly.... yet you come up with your own inventions to tell us what they write?

Funny! :)

Jhonson v/s Dougy
by Mr Bean on Dec 02, 2010 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

both are lefties and both have good variations.but the difference b/w them is the pace and contribution wid the bat.

on any day jhonson is more threatening than dougy.he has that pace, short ball and also bowls the yorker, slow balls well which are necessary at the death overs.

whereas dougy also bowls at a gud pace but still much lesser than jhonson,at his short balls are good but not that threatning like jhonson, rest all r okay wid him.(mind u he is an excellent bowler,no doubt about it).

regarding contribution:

jhonson contributes well wid the bat also and that he also proved before,at times when australian batting collapsed, but same cannot be expected from Dougy..

Your comparison is based on potential and talent . There is no mention of form .While nobody knows how well Doug B can bowl given that he has just returned from injury ; Johnson is in the worst form of his life . He can't hit the stumps if they were 6 feet wide and this is reflecting on his batting and fielding .

Your comments are exactly like a Bhajji vs Mishra or Bhajji vs Ojha type. But what matters MOST are wickets not batting exploits for these players. So my pick is Bollinger over Jhonson if given a choice right now.

Hi

Hi peoples. I am Basavaraj from Bengaluru. How are you.

I wants to say Srikantha is very bad selection persons. He because from Chennai always select Chennai peoples and not select our Bengaluru peoples.

My question to Srikantha is
What problems for select Robin Uthappa??
What problems for select Manish Pandey??
What problems for select Vinay Kumar??
What problems for select Anil Kumbla??
What problems for select Sunil Joshi??

But it is happy to see atleast he select our Bengaluru players Virat Kohli.

Always that Srikantha select only Chennai peoples like Murli Vijay, Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Dhoni and Dinesh Karthick.

When will one persons from Bengaluru go to the selection peoples? We wants to see our Karnataka Ranji team in Indian team.

hello basvaraja:)welcome:)

answering ur questions:

i quite agree wid u that srikanth sometimes show bias wid the tamil nadu players but that is common wid everyone.

robin uthappa just now came from injury,he has to prove himself in the domestic circuit, same wid manish pandey.

vinay kumar, given chance didnt prove much

anil kumble retired and sunil joshi is a joke:)

virat kohli is not from bangalore,he is from Delhi

yes,but i feel only at present:)bcoz jhonson is a real quicke who can bowl or bowls at 150kmph:)plus he has that short bowl as his weapon for him.

and see jhonson can contribute more to the team than dougy bcoz he can bat as well:)

Speed alone does not maketh a bowler.
Johnson seems to be more erratic compared to Bollinger.

Mitchel Jhonson
by Gopal Krishnan on Dec 02, 2010 12:23 PM

Jhonson should have been dropped long time back. Infact, it was because of him England could escape at Cardiff in the last Ashes Series and ultimately win the series. Better late than never. I am sure this decision will do a a lot good to Australia.

pace attack
by aravind varma on Dec 02, 2010 11:31 AM

change of pace, swing bowling don't work in tests.so somebody who can trouble england with pace is required.like tait/nannes.eventhough they are t20 specialists they will be devastating if used in short spells

should learn from Aussies out to keep out of form player out. We have Yusuf Pathans, Munaf Patels, Harbhajan Singhs in the team in spite of fact that these are liability for the team not doing justice to why they have been selected.
