Yusuf not given enough chances to prove himself.he comes low down the order and never gets much chance to play for a long time in the field.
i feel in the next match vijay should be dropped and replaced by yusuf in the opening and saurabh tiwary should play at no.7 atleast for the rest 3 matches

So far the problem with him is He scores mostly on Flat Tracks and Score really big to boost his Avg, I have yet to see a good Innings from him in a sportive wicket more over he is not a opener

Considering he is so Young, he will learn to score good on Sportive wicket also, Hope he doesn't follow his Ranji Partner W Jaffer, Always this 2 make a Big partnership in a dead Pitch where only one Innings will be played from both the team

Not able to convert 30's and 40's into big scores in ODIs. As a test player hes done reasonably well, but in ODIs, the team has to think about. he has got enough chances and now its time for him to prove his place or sit out.

Yes, If he selected for rest of the series that should be his last chance. Getting start but not converting, I think if he couldn't then either S Dhawan or A Mukund should given a chance

ohh S Dhawan is a low in confidence always..I dont think he will give india good start or converts to big inns....After Veeru and Sachin then India might be in a big trouble for Openers just like few years back.

No prbs, Gauti should play for another 6 years anyway and A Mukund should get a chance, have to see, But the problem is A Mukund is not a good attacking player unlike Sehwag or Sachin but more of a anchor like Gauti

Big Question
by Chirag P on Dec 02, 2010 10:56 AM  | Hide replies

Kohli is at highest form in his career right now...Once regulars returns like Veeru and Sachin in ODIs what is the chances for him in 11..you know Gauti definitely will come 1 down.

Y'day Night I posted the Team like this

1. V Sehwag
2. S Tendulkar
3. G Gambhir
4. V Kohli
5. MS Dhoni
6. Y Singh
7. S Raina
8. H Singh
9. P Kumar
10.Z Khan
11.A Nehra

Since we have Y Singh and V Sehwag who are sometime bowl 10 overs 5th bowler not a big problem

No.7 is also big question if we push kohli in the 11....because it is a WC so we need regular Bowling Alrounder rather than Part timers..cant take risk its a WC.

No problem Y Singh and Sehwag already bowling almost 10 overs in many matches and they should easily share a collective 10 overs b/w them and you have 3 fast bowlers meant not a problem in death over also

Whats the point in taking an 'Alrounder' like Jadeja who can neither bowl nor bat or another 'Alroubder' like Y Pathan who bats only once in a blue moon!

MS Dhoni, the India captain, has said that Suresh Raina needs a break from cricket, and if he doesn't get it after the first two ODIs against New Zealand, he might have to be replaced for the first Test in South Africa, which begins on December 16

hahahahahaha, I earlier said, I m not seeing S Raina as a Test Batsman, A Player having around 45 FC Avg, really can't shine in International cricket when players Like Badri, Pujara and Rahane with 60 FC Avg not getting a chance, Let S Raina play limited overs cricket only

Correct...Badri should be gr8 choice if selectors picks him...I am sure about A Mukund he is having all capabilities to be an one of the fabs 4 of indian criket future....

IMO fabs 4 of future in test:

Pujara
Mukund
Kohli
Gambhir

He is taken into Indian team just because he is making idli, dosa and sambhar for srikant.Instead Uthappa must be given one more chance,if he is fit.

@Mr Roy. Vijay is more consistent. He is a roaring success in test cricket after having featured across 2 test series against Australia. Anyone who can play tests so well can surely fit into ODI format. T-20 is a different cup of tea as Dravid and Laxman are finding out but surely a switch between tests and ODI is not so great especially if you bat in the top3 or 4 since anchoring the innings is the need in many situations. Moreover, Vijay really knows how to rotate the strike and his innings never comes to a halt like Dravid does sometimes.

hehehehe

M. Vijay has been given so many chances , only because of favouritsm of Srikant (South Indian bias or what ??).

Had similar chances been given to Badrinath and Pujara , they would have likes of Dravid long back.

M. VIJAY WAS PLAYINGYESTERDAY LIKE IT WAS A TEST MATCH, not an ODI.

Vijay is very good in technique. Yesterday he scored 33 runs facing around 50 delliveries. But it doesn't mean that he is bad. Look at his past stats. Any new younger player(Who is talented) should be given some chances to prove. Given sehwag or ganbhir not playing then vijay is the better replacement for them. Has our selectors has not given Uthappa any chances??? look at the past. He has got many many chances. At any point of time if any tamilnadu player is given some chances the people like you can't tolerate.

Sachin proving his value through not playing for team India
by Jaya S on Dec 02, 2010 08:42 AM

This proves the worth of Sachin's absence. We click better as a team. There is no pressure on captain and coach to accommodate Sachin at the top and sacrifice a genius like Gambhir by sending him lower down the order.
Sachin, please get injured at least until after the world cup and wish you speedy recovery after that :)
