by Jasad Dusty on Aug 31, 2010 03:42 PM

Pakistanies accepted money to lose the games, which they would have lost anyway. What is better defeat with money or defeat and no money. Who is smart???.

Tragedy of cricket.
by zainul sayed on Aug 31, 2010 11:36 AM

In India not just BCCI but all the other sports bodies are corrupt and have Dakoos not just Chors at the helm of affairs.
Indian sports media is like a lion without balls under the tail. The same media made Kalmadi's life miserable (which he deserves) and left Sharad Pawar scot free. This agri minster of India has done enough damages to the poor farmers and the Aam Admi of India by means of suicides and rotting lacs of tonnes of food grains while the poor are dying hungry in the country.
Pawar's daughter and Pawar himself have looted the IPL and every body is after the life of Modi alone.Could such a huge scam take place without the seasoned corrupt politicians blessings at IPL ! I some times doubt the integrity of Indian media both the print as well as the electronic.
Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep are more after Cricket and Kashmir problem and have not given any attention to the suicides of hundreds of farmers.Who are important the people who feed the country and lacs of tonnes of grains getting rotten grown by the sweat and blood of the farmer or the cricketers and the Kashmir ? 80% 0f air time is given to cricket scam and not even 5% to the grievances of our very own Annadata ?
Why is media acting like this or do they too get Hafta from the politicians to keep aside the files of the wrong doings and poor peoples sufferings. What is going on correct path as far as ministry of Agri,PDS,support to poor small time farmers is concerned ! Nothing .

Spot-fixing and all that
by keshavmurthy k on Aug 31, 2010 11:26 AM

An act of malpractice has been reported. The key participants have been identified. Reasonable evidences have been advanced to suggest that the malpractice has indeed taken place. That this has happened in the most hallowed centres of the cricketing world does not in any manner enhance the gravity of the action. ALL the stakeholders, like spectators, video viewers, audio listeners, sports correspondents, commentators and sponsors, have been made to look like fools and idiots. Agreed, severe action must follow a detailed investigation and, thankfully, the task is in the efficient hands of appropriate authorities who will do the needful in double quick time (unlike what we see in our dear Bharat called India!). Why, for God's sake,is the ICC and all the regulators would want the series to continue? How do they expect the English team to play when they have no assurance that their performances might not be expunged? What about the tainted players? They could be lynched by an irate mob or could face reaction that may permanently impair their lives. The least that ICC or the relevant bodies could do is to withdraw the players who are in the limelight and quarantine them in London closest to Scotland Yard. ICC, show yourselves to be people with spunk. Pawar, act for a change that might redeem your reputation at least a little bit. Finally, cricket lovers of the world should begin a campaign (like the infamous pink-chaddi campaign) not to watch matches with tainted players.

every match is fixed.
by deepak gupta on Aug 31, 2010 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

those who think apart from pakinstan everybody is saint are fools. look most of the mathes are fixed. southafrica is the biggest fixer.

do you remember 2003 world cup. boucher played a dot ball when one run was needed. dont you think they knew the target. i mean players who spend life playing cricket will blunder at the most important moment. and gibs dropping the catch of steve waugh in 1999 world cup.

i just gave the above examples because south africa is one of the most shameless fixers. every other country is involved but they are not as shamelss.

a lot of big power people are behind all what is happening. few players will be used as a scapegot. and game will continue to be played and fools will continue to speculate and ruining their lives.

of course, it is fixed by the destiny. just that one is not aware before hand. but destiny knows who the winner/loser going to be. so it can be called as fixed but that fixing is acceptable since it is beyond human control.
