The Indian team which played in the Tri series with the exception of Sehwag was not good enough to win the tournament. The Lankans were deserved winners since they played better cricket in this series. Our bowlers are inconsistent and the less we talk about the batting the better. With the younger players showing no sign of learning from their mistakes, I think, we have to depend upon Sachin, Dravid (not a bad idea if he is included in the team) and of course Sehwag if we have to make any impression in the 2011 WC. Kartick, Rohith Sharma , Jadeja should all be thrown out. They had enough chances. We can give chance to Pujaran, Tiwari and Ashwin.

One thing is clear, we have no chance in this coming World cup. Our Youngsters cannot perform against medium tough oppositions. Home advantage is practically not there since Aussies, SA know the conditions in India better having toured us even before our young players started their careers and also thanks to the IPL. Our seamers have all burnt out or injured and will b thrashed badly. Tendu and Dravid are still our best hope but since cricket is a team game , my bets are on Australia, SRI Lanka, Pakistan and England in that order.
A player who is supposed to be #1 in ODI has batted for nearly 100 balls but could not penetrate the field. He used to hit all balls straight to the feilder.Is this whom we are calling #1 batsmen. And whom are we testing,are we testing till whne Karthik will fire? When will jadeja fire? when will rohit sharma click? Why did we sideline Rahul dravid, is it because he had a strike rate of 70% ? If this is the case after dhoni became captain even his strike rate has come down to 90 from 100 above, this means even he is somewhere near to Dravid's strike rate and if i can remember dravid has proved himself to be quite a match winner many times unlike dhoni who has done well only in bits and peices.
Dhoni has captilized on the team made before and now has made india go back another 5 years till we have another solid team.

he is a vice captain...and he "defends" his friends and "phalthu" 20-20 format players..."gully" cricketers.... happy to play along with them , instead of great player rahul dravid.... have some proper cricket knowledge...
We came second even in a tri siries involving only 3 countries. We'r usually not at the top in test, one day or 20-20 cricket. Australia had been at the top for many years in the past. But Australians r not cricket crazy. They give importance to many games. However despite not being at the top, we go on worshiping our cricketers, bcz of which they earn in crores, whereas players in other fields don't get even elementary facilities. For example, our Cyclists hv not been given world class cycles due to fund shortage for the forthcoming Commonwealth games. Now they'll get it just before the games. Our cricket craze even funds the world cricket and even foreign cricketers earn from India.
As we all know except in a few countries, people of the world don't know anything about cricket. Hence it is much more creditable, if a player in any other game, which is played all over the world, like Athletics, Football (soccer) etc, gets even a bronze medal in an international meet, it is much more valuable that winning even the world cup in test / one day / 20-20 cricket and we could not win even a 3 team tournament.
MS DHONI the useless / selfish is hero when there was a team built and maintained by SAURAV GANGULY and RAHUL DRAVID was with him. INDIA won T20 world cup because of the fantastic players built by GANGULY. Not because of this useless guy. This man don't have any guts to build or maintain one good team. DHONI is spoiling HINDUSTAN's name. Kick him out from captaincy and make VIRENDER SEHWAG as captain and YUVRAJ SINGH as vice captain.
