Unless there is transparency in team selection, regionalism and favouritism will always be there. Only way to do that is to increase the importance of India-A team and U-23 team. More international tours should be arranged for these team. The selection to Indian team should be from India-A. If any young player performs in domestic, he should be selected in U-23. If he does good there, should be promoted to India-A. Bad performers from Indian team should be send to India-A and best performer from India-A should be promoted to Indian team. This will give bad performers a second chance to regain form. Young players should go from domestic to U-23, to India-A.

Correct.. I think the A-tours should be a platform for youngsters.. but also, the team discards need to regain fitness and match practice by including them in A tours.. Just imagine instead of Dhawal Kulkarni, Irfan playing in Australian A tour.. They are already experienced in international matches and they would have got a chance to prove that they merit place on performance..
Similarly, the current discards like RP, Sreesanth, Yusuf Pathan and many others who once shined and faded away should have got some chances in real challenging conditions..
I am not against young freshers getting chances.. But as a sport team, the performers who got into team on merit once should not be left away in the air after nonperformance.. they need to be looked after to gain their confidence levels..

Can work it out...if this thought is being implemented and followed strictly... I dont agree with U-23. But it can be U-19, India-A, India Team. Which means India-A is to put the players under scanner and Ideally they are the Main team's bench strength which is not divided region-wise and is the next best available talent.

correct. U-19 sounds even better. I dont have anything against Dinesh Karthick. He is a useful utility player. If anyone believes that Dinesh Karthick is the best openner available in India (to replace injured Gambir or Tendulkar) and Jadeja is the best alrounder available in India.. then future of Indian cricket is bleak.
50 years if cricket....and still we have 'leading nations' such as Kenya, Bangladesh, Pakinstan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe comprising half the number of teams! What a shame!
Truly, cricket is a pathetic sport - fit only for fat, lazy Indians who can't do anything but loiter and crowd around TV sets wasting their entire day. No wonder this country doesn't progress.
Such a retarded sport....meant for malnourished men or pregnant women who need exercise. For instance, Harbhajan Singh has some of the skinniest legs I have ever seen on a man. So is the case with Dhoni, Agarkar, etc. LOL....joke of a sport....not a game for real men...only for sissies and pvssies.
Give Cricket another 100 years...it still won't be popular....except in a diseased, fat country like India.

Please sir.. Go to Cricinfo and see the number of countries playing cricket..
Cricket's base is made in 10 countries but it doesnt mean that others are not playing the game..
We'r usually not at the top in test, one day or 20-20 cricket. Australia had been at the top for many years in the past. But Australians r not crazy about the game. They give importance to all type of games. But we go on worshiping our cricketers, despite we not being at the top. Bcz of this they earn in crores, whereas players in other fields don't get even elementary facilities. Our cricket craze even funds the world cricket and even foreign cricketrs earn from India.
As we all know except in a few countries, people of the world don't know anything about cricket. Hence it is much more creditable, if a player in any other game, which is played all over the world, like Athletics, Football (soccer) etc, gets even a bronze medal in an international meet, it is much more valuable that winning even the world cup in test / one day / 20-20 cricket.
But media has news about anything in cricket. They don't give enough coverage to other games. When will they realise their mistake?

don't worry. As long as Srikaant is Chairman of Selection Committee and Mr.Srinivasan is Secretary to the BCCI, Dhoni will remain captain as they have to build the the Brand of CHENNAI SUPERKINGS, as one is the brand ambasador and the other is owner of that franchise.
