This guy if plays for another 5 years can beat Tendulkar test record. One reason why Tendulkar will not retire is this guy. This guy is just 9 centuries and 1700 runs behind Tendulkar

Ya, but he's barely 2 years younger than tendulkar. So, I doubt if Ponting will go on much more than a couple of years after tendulkar retires. Also, tendulkar is in good form at the moment, so why retire?
So that even mediocre bowlers like Harbhajan Singh look world class. And with no Shane Warne in their ranks, Auusies are surely to be troibled by spin. After India wins, there will be more ads, more money and everybody will forget that India is a flat track bully and everybody will live happily ever after till another series overseas.

no problem if v can win on turners. if they can win on bouncy wkts, y not turners to win for us. after all its home advantage.

No Dude, Mohali & Banglore have favoured Australian bowlers. Lets see this time.
Excuse me Mr. Ponting ! who are you trying to fool ? India - the world's no. 1 ???
Absolutely NOT Ricky. I am a hardcore Indian fan but I also have to be honest in my views on the present Indian team. They are a decent team but not an invincible one. They still haven't mastered the trick to becoming successful out of hopeless situations. Add to that the pathetic track record of Dhoni at the toss. He's bound to lose more tosses and in India that can be a nightmare.
So Mr. Ponting how about you and your mates put on the "world's best team" collar and leave the Indians to be the underdogs this series. Indians know your tricks and deception. Indians know Aussies are like snakes who could bite them back when they least expect it. So by calling this Indian team "the best" you are trying to cook the Indians inside their own stove and hand you back the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Too bad it ain't working this time.

true. but all aorund the world, ckt standard has deteriorated thats y ind is no.1 test team. although ind is better team but the one which gets bowled out for around 100 runs twice in less than a week dont deserve to b called no1.

I think Ponting is trying to out pressure on India by almost calling them favourites.
I don't think selectors really look for fresh blood, dhoni & others are very careful that no one overperforms & cements in fixed slot/quota allocated for other player. For example Gambhir is replaced by Dinesh Karthik known failure in opening slot. Naman Ohja/Shikhar Dhawan should have been a better choice. If Gambhir, Sachin comes IN, DK & Rohit will be OUT. Raina moves up. If yusuf comes IN, yuvi/jaddu goes out. If zaheer comes IN, nehra/ishant goes OUT. Bhajji comes IN, Ohja goes OUT.
