No it is not obsession. Look at how it is seen... A big eye brow is raised in the name spirit of the game. Agree to a certain extent that players are after stats. Tell who in the world don't like stats. In this case Sehwag really deserved a 100 as it helped India win a game from cruch situation. Lanka also violated the spirit of the game just for stats.

Yes, but the Srilankans are always cheatss. Look at the way their bowlers bowl beyond basics.

This is probably an eye wash. Huge funds had been put for Sehwag making a ton. to gallop those funds, these things happened
Need to be severly punished and make an example so that they wont do it again. IPL has made world cricket not a gentleman game. Why are we arguing the stump mic says all.
Cricket International body has to look into the ugly practice of Sri Lankan Cricketers. The law should be changed to avoid such unsportive acts. ICI has committed a big blunder by changing the rule with regard to bowling and facilitated Muttaiah Muralitharan and Lasit Malinga to chuck the ball. Rules should be changed for the good of the game but not to favour individuals.

Yes, we have to go berserk. Look at the way they cheat by bowling their own way, leaving the basic rules
what randiv did was completely off the spirit of the game, besides, sanga too chipped in - so it was clearly conspiring to deny. whats worse is that it seems that lankans have made it a habit. they've denied a century to tendulkar, ganguly and sehwag now. and of all the people sehwag is the person who's least nothered about records. he does not slow down when he's on 90, for that matter, he probably is the only and most audacious person to ever try a six when he's close to a triple century.
what sri lanka did was completey unacceptable. its good that it was sehwag who made the point. so ANY future teams will not have to face the situation against people who think they are clever - people like sanga. unfortunately, sanga is getting away with it, and a young randiv is all set to gobble the blame, because sanga is the star for them now.
In the match when Kumble took all the ten wickets in an innings against Pakistan, Javagal Srinath was bowling well wide of the off-stump, so that the last batsman - Waqar Younis, I guess - do not get out, so that Kumble could bowl the next over. If a bowler can bowl not to take wickets, he cannot be blamed for not allowing a batsman to score a century against his team.

My dear friend, you got an interesting point. But here is how you need to look at it. Randiv bowled a deliberate "No ball" and umpire signalled it. Srinath bowled a deliberate wide (as you call it) and umpire did not signal it. Here is where he is with in the spirit of the game. I have seen umpires signalling wides in Test matches as well.

Ojha and Dhoni alos supported Muralitharan to pick 800 th wicket because Mulaitharan plays for Chennai super kings !

idiot - srinath did to help kumble here it is opposite. randiv bowled no-ball to deny sehwag 100. secondly if waqar could have got himself out on srinath ball say by hitting his stumps with leg or bat then that would have been unsporting.

what an idiotic logic. people all the time try to deny the opposition of centuries, because they know that if centuries can be slowed down, then the run rate slows as well. besides, its done within the spirit of the game, not explicitly running one foot in front of crease, when he has a 4 step runup to his bowling.

stupid logic.what srinath did was in the spirit of the game. He played with sportsmanship to give Anil Kumble the chance to get 10 wickets. What randiv did was not in the spirit of the game. dont compare both.
