Sehwag ton denial
by Doraswamy Krishnamoorthy on Aug 20, 2010 01:14 AM

Randiv bowled 2 more balls after the 4 leg byes of the first ball of is over before te no ball. Sehwag could have scored a single of any of the 2 balls and got his hundred. There is no necessity for an enquiry or punishment. However, Randiv should feel sorry and he has expressed it to Sehwag. Matter ends there

Deliberate No Ball
by RK Nair on Aug 18, 2010 09:08 PM

Sangakara's denial that the no-ball was not deliberate is not a fair statement. He knows it very well that it was deliberate, even it is by his instruction, to bowl a no-ball. However, it is not a fair practice for the spirit of the game.

MURALI 800 but SEHWAG 99
by SKM Prasad on Aug 17, 2010 11:51 PM

INDIA supported MURALI to gain 800th wicket in his last International test match. But SANGAKKARA and SURAJ RANDIV played dirty politics against INDIA's hero SEHWAG..This shows how jellous and selfish SANGAKKARA is ! He is spoiling SRILANKA's name which was lifted by great cricketers like SANATH JAYASURIYA and ARJUNA RANATUNGA

Deliberate No-ball
by GILLBART KUMAR on Aug 17, 2010 08:58 PM

1. When a fielder DELIBERATELY pushes the ball beyond the boundary, the bowling team is penalised by awarding the batting team with 5 runs whether the batting team wins or not by then. One solid example for this is the second test match against South Africa in Calcutta, 2010.
2. Randiv has DELIBERATELY over-stepped the crease inorderto increase the batting team's score by one run so that the match would get over. Considering the act of DELIBERACY, in my opinion, the bowling team should get penalised by awarding the batting team with as many runs that are scored by the batsman.
3. After all, when a bowler no-balls, it is included in the number of balls faced by the batsman. When a no-ball is included in the tally of number of balls, the number of runs scored is also supposed to be included.
4. True, the match has been won before the six, but the ball is still NOT yet dead.
I therefore request the ICC to look into it and do justice by adding those SIX runs to Sehwag's score.

It would be interesting to know how many batsman in all have been left in 90's by Sri lankans while they were heading for defeat?? I remember Ponting was left not on 90 in similar situation. It would be interesting if all the cases are compiled and flashed.

imp point lost in all this tamasha: Ind played 5 bowlers
by Moshadi Maino on Aug 17, 2010 10:55 AM

That is the reason India won by a thumping margin.

At least now, Dhonni and his (non-performing) strategist Kirsten should realize the value of playing 5 bowlers.

Had we done this during the test matches, we would have won the series comfortably.
