Kumble hardly spinned cricket ball in his playing days, which balls he is going to spin in South Africa?

Surprised about your comment. Do you know cricket is a game with 6 wickets?

He is correct. Kumble took wickets with his variations. He couldn't turn the ball much.

But still spinning the ball is different from turning the ball. He tried to turn by spinning the ball but it wouldn't.

Anil Kumble should give couching to Irfan Pathan
by Sandeep pawar on Aug 13, 2010 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

I Think he should give couching to Irfan Pathan, as now a days Irfan is bowling with pace which Kumble use to bowl.

Irfan is not bowling fast, he does not want to run and want to sit...couching is the right word.

Kumble could not turn the ball, it is common knowledge. Nothing to do with Bengali or Tamilian or Gujratai.

Kumble should be rated at par with Sachin Tendulkar
by S V on Aug 13, 2010 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

First Half is making runs is one side of story.

Second Half requires taking wickets consistently, pressurizing the batsman and containing the runs. In the period from 1996 to 2003, Indian teams performances depended heavily on Kumble and Srinath.

Without Kumble, the current team is like a cannon without the ball.

Pity that BCCI is not making use of him
by Senthil Kumar on Aug 13, 2010 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

it is a pity that BCI has not done anything with people like Kumle to help develop local talent.

The sheer Work ethic which people like Kumble espouse is bound to have huge imapct on young talent In india if used properly.

He is not totally wrong.

Tendulkar didnt conentrated well in his bowling right from the beginning stage. If he has done that he would have reached a substantial level
