Is Munaf being sent to carry drinks and do other chores for Dhoni and company? He is not selected for a single match, this poor fellow Munaf. Feel sorry for Munaf. Mithun bowls 4 overs and is felled by a heat stroke but is still preffered over Munaf. If Munaf is not going to play then why select him at all? BTW how many wickets did Mithun and Ishanth take in the test series? Are they really that great or is Munaf really that bad?
Irfan handed Indian pace attack single handedly well, while Zaheer was ruledout quite a few times. RP is a good rhythm bowler who can take wickets at will " only those who watch him close may realise this " .

Good home made story dude.. U neeed to wake up.. Srikanth is just a paid employee of BCCI and a normal tamilian.. how can he keep hands on the Mumbai guys(Who has been eating all the comforts BCCI allows???)

Dhawal Kulkarni was the player preferred by Praveen Amre and Pujara (captain of India A). Dhawal could not get a single wicket. Ha, ha, ha. Ganapathy was not given a chance to play because is from Chennai. Atleast he could have been tried. Anyway Dhawal is also useless but he was selected by Amre and Pujara because he is from Mumbai. This is the kind of regional poltics that is ruining Indian cricket. BTW I am not a Dinesh Kartik fan. So Sameer Bhagwat go fly a kite.
Indian cricket team should have players like Kallis, Watson, Oram etc who can bat and bowl a bit. They don't have to be perfect all rounders but effective at what they do. Considering this as base the following should be a team who can bowl and swing the bat as well.

Why doesn't he find more club level rookies from South India now? Thanks to Srikkanth's masterful antics at selection of Indian team undeserving players likee Abhimanyu Mithun, Ashwin, Murli are in the team. I will say get rid of this good for nothing selector and select the team on merit and not on regional biases ...

U are all copycat and parrot in nature ....expresssing same feeling and same words of Paid sports columnist and tv commentator Old budda gavaskar..who has to critisize sombody for the sake of trps.Dont critisize munaf for selfish interest and dont spoil his career by your parrot comments
In the 2005-2006 Test Series against West Indies, Munaf proved he was arguably the fastest bowler in India, bowling regularly at speeds of over 87 mph and has produced balls at a pace over the 90 mph mark. However, more impressive than his ability to bowl at a very quick pace has been his control, a skill lacking in recent Indian fast bowlers.

In the second match of the DLF Cup in Malaysia, Munaf came up with impressive figures of 3/54 against Australia, picking up the wickets of Phil Jacques, Michael Clarke and Stuart Clark. In the final game of the same tournament, he dismissed Australian captain Ricky Ponting for just 4, on the way to 1/32 off 9 overs.
In the first match of the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy against England, Munaf Patel again produced impressive figures of 3/18 - winning the match for India and gaining the man of the match award.

I agree that Once Uopn A Time he was a good bowler. But at least in last couple of years I don't remember any occasion where he leaked less runs and took wickets. And more than his bowling failure, I have a problem with his attitude towards the game. He is treating himself as a govermnet employee on the ground.

because selectors are not giving him chance to prove himself, they keep repeating useless players again and again.

I'm hopeful that after such a long period away, he will come back hungry to impress and take wickets... often it works this way! He'll go well alongside Nehra.

Coming back for the break is not a new thing for Munaf. He must have come back after the long break at least 10 times. In those 10 times he never showed any hunger to impress and take wickets, how can you expect him to do so in 11th come back?????

Very true..his body language does not reflect that he has fire in his belly...such guys just need to look at people like Dravid,Sachin,Kumble etc. I don't think there can be a better role model in intn'l cricket..
You all moan and moan about India team and Selectors and then when they make a change... yes... you moan and moan again! Munaf is the nearest we come to a 'pace' bowler and he can swing the ball both ways... so why shouldn't he get a chance?! Can you name even one alternative?!
Re: Re: Hypocrits!
by Sanjay on Aug 12, 2010 08:28 PM
Irfan Pathan is no longer able to take wickets... he can swing a bat but it's hit and miss... Dhawal ... who's that?!
Re: Re: Re: Hypocrits!
by Sameer Bhagwat on Aug 12, 2010 08:50 PM
Dhawal Koolkarni has been the highest wicket taker in 2008 Ranji season 45 wickets and also in 2009 season he took 20 odd wicket and scored a crucial 87 in the finals.
