problem with india is that they always struggle to adjust different format of cricket. First they played very badly on first test and than get adjust to the game and played well at the end. After test, they need some time to prepare for one day, again, they struggle to adjust but eventually do well in the next match.
It is all about adjustment. Unfortunately India take long time to switch between one day to test. This is not first time I noticed, but happening for last 5 year.
even most of players didn't play for test, they are taking own time to adjust to cricket, which is not very professional for international player.
wait for next match before you make final judge.
because of selector, players politics, with money they get for lousy play, lack of commitment, india will never dominate cricket like aus did for over decade. they will win and lose like every alternative matches.
The players selected for this match has certain weaknesses.
Rising Ball
1. If you bowl a bouncer that comes at your throat...
a. Sewag: will deal with it. No problem. b. Karthik: Loves to pull and cut. No problem. c. Raina: He used to suffer. He has worked hard on this and will find a way to survive. d. Yuvi: He can pull. At present, the guy isnt in terrific form. e. JADEJA: This guy is a dud. Will have no clue at all. f. RSharma: Toss a coin. He either bats like a tail ender or bats like a top order batsman. Very unreliable. g. Dhoni: You really cant figure out. Dhoni is not afraid. However, he gets hit on his gloves and body. He can easily get out.
2. If you bowl a ball that rises above waiste level...
Sewag: Can score off of it. Karthik: Loves to pull and cut. Can score of it. Raina: Doesnt like it. Will give catch practice to slip. He is more of a subcontinental type of player and likes to get on the front foot. He is a liability on such pitches. Yuvi: Not in form at the moment. But, usually can score of it, when in form. JADEJA: Dud again. This guy is a Dhoni's and Sreekanth's answer to Kapil Dev. He cant bowl. He bats like crap and he is no special on the field. Yet, he is an automatic selection as india's no 1. allrounder.
Kapil Dev must be very amused to see this guy being called an all rounder. Kapil set a high standard. This guy sets the lowest possible standard. RSharma: Will get out to balls rising above his waiste. Dhoni: Will get out.

I dont know who this guy is ...but he missed a major player who is exceptionaly good at playing quick short pitch deliveries on lively pitches...dravid....none of these players including sehwag or good at short pitch stuff.....sehwag is never comfortable at round the wicket short pitch at his chest level...he gets out....fortunately he is playing lot more on flat pitches,....he allways stays at legstump to avoid such deliveries..
The 200 run defeat against the NZ team is not surprising. Remember Indian lost all the matches to Zimbawe and lost one to Sri Lankans in the previous triangilar series. That is where we are placed in ODNI's and we sould not burden the team with more expectations. We kept loosing to Zimbawe with big margins. Either the players are over worked or we are struggling big time.

There wasn't enough planning before injecting young blood into the team. If the selectors think of team's development, they should try with new players slowly. I mean, one or 2 players per each game. But they tried to get rid of the senior players completely, which has back fired. They have been talking a lot about the capabilities of the younger players and the need to get rid of the experienced players keeping in mind the coming world cup. But now, it's evident that their planning was not good and if they don't want to get out of the world cup in the first round itself, they should get back to the experienced players.
shikhar dhawan the opener, jaidev unadkat new promising pacer, parthiv patel the keeper/opener. pujara the middle order batsman. they r doing well in ausi conditions.

No board spends money to bring back players in between tours. So please do not suggest rubbish things.

but indian team plays lot of cricket if you compare to other teams,so they surely deserve a break, after all they r not machines to go on all the time
There is too much cricket that lead to low score defeat ,please give at least one month rest for the players and give chance to fresh blood. They are human beings not a money making machine.BCCI must act now or , there may be such low scoring defeat in future also.
