Come on mamaji, Dhobi is not my enemy. I do not like Dhobi because he is mediocre player.

As I have repeatedly said, I do not encourage mediocrity.

Invest in Ishant
by B M on Aug 10, 2010 02:02 PM  | Hide replies

The selectors must continue to invest into Ishant. He may not be in good form but at least, he is one of the few bowlers who has shown that he can bowl well and take wickets. There are Mithuns & Sreesanths who do well in phases, but none other bowler on the horizon who shows the promise to be a strike bowler. Indian selectors and the captains must continue to nurture and encourage Ishant to recapture his old form. We have a classic example of Irfan Pathan who made a promising beginning and was just allowed to fade out. Let this not happen to Ishant.

Looking at the present lot of insipid pace bowlers, Agarkar was subject to far more criticism than he deserves. History should record him as one of the better medium pace bowlers that India has produced. But now its too late to recall him into the team.

Instead, Agarkar should be appointed as India's bowling coach. He is an intelligent fellow and although his bowling is erratic, he has tricks up his sleeve and can be a good coach.

The biggest thing that went against Sir Agarkar was he could not bat even 10% of his potential else he was a better strike bowler specially in foreign conditions.

Ishant
by LG on Aug 10, 2010 01:54 PM  | Hide replies

is young, and could be a effective and consistent bowler for India if he is given space to learn and improve. We have lost couple of fast bowlers in the past because they could not keep up with demand of international cricket, especially bowling on flat pitches of Asia.

I am not sure how many matches Ishant has played outside Asia--that is on pacey and bouncy pitches.

In helpful conditions, Zaheer, Nehra and Ishant (in that order) are more than handful but the thing is that on flat tracks no Indian bowler has the pace to invoke a mistake from opposition batsman or the patience and accuracy to test the batsman's patience (Zaheer is better in this regard).

I agree partially. I must say in helpful condition Nehra is the best, then come others.

But Nehra tries too many things if he does not get a wicket early on even in helpful conditions, Zaheer has that patience. But if Nehra gets an early wicket he is a comple different bowler.

I agree with that. That is because, Nehra's main shortcoming is not being persistence.

Ishant Sharma
by tortoise on Aug 10, 2010 01:52 PM

I like Ishant when he moves the cricket ball both ways, and when the batsman start to read him sends one straight through. His pace and change of pace is so immaculate. No need to mention about the occasional yorkers he bowls.

Delete the name from the list of Ravindu jadeja and see luks gud
by gayatri mohanty on Aug 10, 2010 01:49 PM

I think instead of Ravindra Jadeja why selectors are not keeping their eyes on other player Were they blind? must use a magnifure.why they are spoiling the spirit of cricket as we have seen in Test Match Abhimanyu Mithun has some batting ability instead of Ravindra Jadu he must be promoted to top of Order. You know where should be Ravindra jadeja place...............can't say ok he must be in 11th place to bat or if possible he mustnot be in team..........written by rakesh

Bring back Irfan Pathan !!!
by Sanat Gupta on Aug 10, 2010 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

Bring back Irfan Pathan and show confidence on him. He is the only Bowler (after Kapil Dev & Srinath) who achieved 100 test wickets (in 30 tests) and 150 one day (in 107 ODIs)wickets and he is only 25 !!! No one after him looked fiery in more than one series. Show confidence on him and he will be the right answer. Don't cry too much about his lack of pace, just be informed that he bowled only @ 125 - 130 kmph during his pick time (all three hat-trick balls). who else has a better strike rate than him ?

No one can change the mind set of selectors. Their simply target is to spoil the career of Irfan Pathan.

Shri Kant always try to keep their players in team.

IRFAN PATHAN IS THE BEST ALLROUNDER IN INDIAN CRICKET TEAM. SELECTORS ALWAYS IGNORE HIM .....?
THEY ALRAEDT SPOIL THE CAREER OF BALAJI,M KAIF,DRAVID, GAGULY,ETC.

POLIITICS OF MONEY IN CRICKET.... TOOO MUCH...

THERI ARE MANY GOOD BOWELERS IN INDIA FROM VILLAGE TO VILLAGE BUT THEY ARE NOT TOO MUCH RICH...TO PAY FOR SELECTORS.

THIS IS THE SIMPLE REASON WHY WE ARE NOT AHEAD IN ALL GAMES...? CURRPTION....?
