Missing key players and just done with an exhausting drawn Test series, India swiftly shift to the One-day mode as they take on an equally-depleted New Zealand in the opening match of the cricket tri-series starting in Dambulla on Tuesday.
Ishant Sharma is one of our most talented young find and perhaps India's future pace spearhead. However he seems to be stagnating with his unidimensional bowling. He is totally lacking variations and with old ball he struggles--convoluted forced action that make him lose his rhythm and the essential smooth transition of action from end of run-up to 'delivery'.The delivery ends in a jerking motion with lot of efforts which makes him stray in line and length. In the entire series we could not see even one accurate yorker length delivery on the middle stump from him.Does he 'think' at all before bowling ? Rather he seems to be mechanically bowling ball after ball w/o much thought although he bowls his heart out and seems to be putting in lot of effort. He should try to learn from likes of Praveen Kr, Zaheer etc. who seem to be always thinking before bowling the next ball. And what about the variety and 'reverse' swing with old balls ? When is he going to get them ? He should do long practice sessions with old balls.Unless he becomes more versatile bowler I/Sharma is in danger of going into oblivion sooner than later.

You are so true to your name. Kartik played a match winning innings in the Asia Cup Final, also Uttapa is still injured and not yet started batting, read his interview in Cricinfo.

Despite umpire giving out in one innings due to Sri Lankan pressure, Karthik scored very well in the Asia Cup
I am confident, India will win. Both Sehwag and Raina are in good form and expecting some explosions from Yuvi, India can manage to win though Sachin is not there. Also, Pravin kumar should play. But, seeing Jadeja's name is only irritating.
