You left out Dravid who has second highest runs to his credit in Tests (11,483) after Sachin Tendulkar. Dravid might have failed in this series so far but he is one of the top most batsmaen ever produced by India.

after hammond only.. sehwag.. fastest to reach 7000 in just 134 innings because of so quickly he scores those runs.. his runs.. dravid is deffinately one of the best batsman in india ever produced but now he has to score runs else give place for newcomers no point of depending on past glory depriving our country by not scoring runs after having so many experience at the top level.. it is painful to see.. a classy act like dravid to struggle at the twilight of his career

Mad Max is the nickname of Aravinda DeSilva. Nawab of Najafgarh or Sultan of Multan are the right epithets for Sehwag.

LOL @ Sehwag being better than Gavaskar. Sunny averaged more than 51 in those days where Sehwag would have struggled to average even 40 odd, averaged 64 odd against the devastating West Indian pace battery, averaged more than 50 outside Asia in those days which would be equivalent to an average of 60 odd today, played against those speed demons like Lillee, Thommo, Holding, Marshall, Robets, Garner, Imran, Hadlee, etc and that too without wearing a helmet, played the role of the lone warrior so many times for India with very little support.......

Sehwag averages 42 odd outside Asia. Add to that he opens the batting for the best batting line up in the world with guys like Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, etc to follow after him.

People talk more of
T20 and one dayers but Test cricket is a real game. To take the test cricket format to the next generation People like Virender Shewag should continue to play as long as he can because nowadays people watch Test cricket because of his Agressive batting styles.I wish viru to keep himself good so that he can play as long as he can.

Yeah. 100M and 200M runs are not real. Marathon is the REAL one. Please make sure you watch marathon year after year as they apparently need viewers. We will watch Usain Bolt. OK? See ya...

Varadan. You make a good point. Agree. Test cricket separates men from boys.

There are many fools that watch T20 cricket and think they know everything there is to know about a player.

IPL is just a club level tournament and doenst have the quality of even international T20 matches. look at Indian T20 team. Full of IPL garbage and have failed two times in the T20 worldcup miserably.

Test matches are worth watching.

Better is to watch soccer.

We Indians are just continuing our Colionial love story and spending billions in a game which is virtually non-existent in the world apart from the 8 test playing nations(out of 146).

High time we start looking for other sports else we would just be mere spectators of World Cup n olympics.

Sehwag will be second highest run getter for India!!
by manjunath nagappa on Aug 04, 2010 09:22 PM  | Hide replies

By the time Viru retires, he will be the second highest runs getter for India. He will around 12k (1000 for every yr for next 5 years). And he will hold the record for most number of sixes and fours and also strike rate of more than 90
