Lesson for India - Don't replace all seniors in one shot!!!
by Rick Shaw on Aug 01, 2010 10:56 PM

This is what would happen to Indian Middle order, if all seniors (Dravid, SRT & Lakshman) are replaced with yougsters at the same time!!
- So, the transition has to be spread out.
- Its time to replace Lakshman immeditaly with a new face (may be ROhit Sharma) and then Draivd (with sya Raina, assuming Yuvi hold #6 position) and SRT after about a year (with ???, can't think of a reliable name that can take SRT #4 position!!)

YOU CHANGE "N" OF CAPTAINS SERIES AFTER SERIES, BUT IT WILL BE SAME SCENERIO WHEREVER PAKISTAN CRICKET GOES AND PLAYS. NOW EVEN GOD CANNOT SAVE THIS TEAM.

They have a weak batting line up, hardly anyone worthy in the middle order. Earlier they had a unsteady opening pair, now they have a balanced one in Salman Butt and Imran Farhat (i hope the due are given enough time to settle down and not removed as per fancies).

It is their middle order that is worrisome, time they think of getting back oldies like Younus and Yousuf as they not only bring with them experience, but also lots of stability and talent of their own. None can deny that Yousuf is a world class batter, perfect for Tests, he has the records to back that.

Its also time that they appoint someone like Inzy as a batting coach. They tried many a time with Javed, better to go in for fresh one and who better than Inzy. Umar Amin looks out of sorts, while Azhar is a good prospect.

Their bowling too is heavily reliant on Asif, Aamer, Gul, all world class bowlers. But their reserves in this dept is not sound. Time they forget Shoaib and look for others to lend stability for the future.
