No news at all of Vishwanathan Anand beating Topalov in the 2nd game of the world chess championship. Shame on rediff. No wonder as a country we are pathetic in sports.

Very Sad.As a news channel they should cover it. Atleast those who follow these games have the right to know.

Totally agree on this aspect. Achievements of other Indian sports professionals must be highlighted. Especially, Vishy Anand is the most successful Indian Sportsman today.

Shilpa and Raj Kudra was anyway having 11% of stake only. I dont know whether they are going to sell it. I think for King's XI all of the stake holders including Preity going for sale.
Preity did'nt have a single share before she bid for King's XI (even on the day of the bid process in 2008!!!) And the very next day more than a thousand shares were credited into her account making her an owner of King's XI!! If this is not a shady deal - what is??? And to say she is a celebrity in this country flouting every single rule!! She needs to be behind the bars too along with Shilpa, Raj Kundra, Lalit Modi and Sharad Pawar!

The first IPL biddings happened in 2008 the players who were bought by the Franchisees in the auctions then had their contracts which were valid for 3 years. Those contracts expired after the IPL yesterday, so there will be fresh bidding for players before the next year IPL. There is a proposal from IPL Governing council that each of the 8 current teams can retain 4 of their current Indian players and 3 of their current foreign players in the team at renegotiated rates while the rest of the players will be auctioned and bought by the team that offers the best bid for them. These players are the ones referred to in the statement as cricketers to b withheld. Dont misunderstand it as though some cricketers have been caught in the scandal and have been held by authorities.
