Making productive use of IPL
by Ashish Kumar on Apr 28, 2010 10:32 PM

Since IPL cricket is addictive like alcohol and makes the richer segments of society shell out money in exchnage for pleasure/thrill etc., its earning should be levied to tax on the likes of alcoholic beverages and the resulting funds directly used for development of under-developed areas of the country. This way we shall have ready funds to remove naxal violence and we will be killing three birds withe one stone.

Share your earning with all.
by SATADRU DAS on Apr 27, 2010 02:22 PM

Very recently we faced a biggest ever corporate scam named “SATYAM”. Though Mr Raju was the main the accused, but all the board of directors (invited/nominated/fulltime) also held responsible for that. Few were voluntarily resigned, few were sacked by Govt & few are in trail. If that can happen , then why only Mr Modi to be blamed for all. If we accept the clarification from BCCI that Mr Modi was taking all the decision & then informed the Governing Council, then why the other members were silent then. All the GC members including Mr Gavaskar, Shastri & Pataudi & all the other corrupt people including few politicians, corporate should also be suspended & get back with their name cleared like Modi. Mr Amin is also a member of IPL GC, then how could he be chairman, he should held responsible for the same for allowing (if) Mr Modi to do all that. I am not supporting Mr Modi, though he is only accused till now, but we can’t ignore what he did. You may hate him or love him, but can’t ignore him & his effort to make IPL a biggest success in what ever manner. I don’t know if Mr Modi will be reading that, but a small suggestion to you that, please share what ever black money or white money you will be earning in future portfolios, with the politicians in all colors.

So, what is your problem? Poking your nose at others personal matters does not speak high of your character either. If they have a better understanding, let them live together. It is none of your business man.

BANTWAL BHAT
New Chairman
by BANTWAL BHAT on Apr 27, 2010 02:08 PM  | Hide replies

If all that is written about Mr. Amin is correct,he is a very good man. But what we want to know is whether he can take IPL to even higher heights and put ICC to shame. We want that to happen for all the insinuation ICC did to Indian Cricket till recently. Remember the great ICC officils like Clive Lloyd etc.. who openly insulted Jagmohan Dalmiya and tried to block the rise of our own Sharad Pawar in ICC?
Thanks to Lalit Modi , India is now at the pinnacle of glory and this should continue at the same pace. Can Mr. Amin do that or will he be led to do witch hunting LM for no good purpose? Only time will tell.
Best of luck, Chiru Bhai!!!

dumbo, courtesy of LM india's (is not pinnacle of glory) ipl is now being called (all over the world) as the biggest "fraud" and "match- fixing" tourny. Go into the net and read the relevant news item, across the globe, from the daily mail to NZ Herald. Now don't write a mail quoting "blah-blah it made so many billions" just remember there are better ways to earn money and respect.

IPL fraud
by Dinesh Vijapurkar on Apr 27, 2010 02:03 PM  | Hide replies

Hope Sacking Modi does not absolve every one lese connected with the crime that was perpetuated including Modi

All guilt should be booked. No excuse on that count, Only then frauds can be prevented in future

Let Modi go to jail for a few years and see how it deters every ne else from committing crimes. Smart Cookies !!

Also Pawar, I do not how he can be allowed to go scotch free. He is guilty of BCCI not paynig taxes and for many corrupt deals within BCCI
