IPL - A Level Playing Ground
by Ashok Kumar on Apr 26, 2010 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

We must appreciate Modi for making something a reality which even the ICC couldn't do. By making so many foreign players participate in it, Indian cricket gets to benefit in many ways

a. The so called "Home Advantage" will vanish and we will notice lot more competitive cricket in India
b. The animosity between players from different countries will be much subdued in the future and they played as one team in IPL. So we will have more friends and less enemies
c. The local talent get to learn a lot from the high standard foeign players by rubbing shoulders with them. The level of Cricket in India will most definitely go up.
d. It also provided an opportunity to spinners to prove their worth in the short forms of cricket. With Pro Batting rules, the bowlers were losing interest in the game. IPL in a way has given a big booster to their morale.

So looking at the overall benefits, IPL is indeed a grand success story for MODI.

IPL issue should be thoroughly investigated at the highest level. It should be made a test case as it is in popular public domain & guity should be brought to book. Let this be first step towards eradication of corruption from our great country. Let us get rid of'Chor Chor Mosere Bhai' cult.

This is what is happening in the IPL Council Meet
by Sowri Rajan on Apr 26, 2010 11:35 AM

IPL Chairman: For the time being, we have chargesheeted and suspended Lalit Modi and have given him 15 days notice to respond.
IPL Member 1: This is a correct decision. In 15 days time, public would be busy watching the Word Cup T20, which would give Lalit and us the time to share the loot and sweep everying under the carpet. If the Public has still forgotten IPL Gate, we will give 15 days more time to Lalit to give his explanations. By then, World Cup (Football) will be on and the remaining public would have also forgotten the entire episode.

IPL Member 2: Lalit should have been aware that we too have to support family members and he should not kept the loot to himself.

IPL Member 3: We should also elect 3-4 members to the manage the IPL, so that the loot can be evenly distributed amongst all IPL members.

IPL Member 4: We should appoint an Auditor (from one of our own members) to look into the financial irregularities. We will all get a fair idea of the booty that Lalit Modi made. That way, it will give us a chance to question Lalit Modi and our position will be stronger to demand how this money can be equally distributed amongst all members.

IPL Member 5: After the meeting, we will issue a statement saying that BCCI has taken steps to clean up the IPL mess and all future IPL decisions will be jointly taken by all members (we will have a clear picture of the money involved for equal distribution). No member will be deprived of his rights. In

Inspite of introducing so many reforms in our policy, we are still considered as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Nothing is going to change the system it is like third stage cancer. We the people, the political parties & the Government must change our 'vote bank politics' greed & deal with the corruption with iron hand. Question is 'Who will take the first step' & Bell the Cat.

baan IPL & BCCI
by Rajesh Pramanik on Apr 26, 2010 11:32 AM

I think that Govt. should take the responsbility to dislove the BCCI & IPL and will take ex-players not politicians run India's Cricket. Political party/person are corrupt, selfish & they know how to make black money into white only. These policital person should kick-out form the Govt. or Party for clean investigation. It is our money in which they are enjoying, even their are policital leader who had no time to look into price-enhance day by day but to envolve in cricket to make money....... Why Govt. or any another Political party/person will involve in Hockey or any other games because of no money....things are going worst to worsten if don`t take the right action soon.....

why they do not want to face him in the meeting& listen to him what he says& then proceed step by step. These people are witness for the last 3 years & enjoyed fruits of success of ipl who brought money to the board & individual & he alone now looks corrupt.i want the ipl council members to resign ,THE Bcci president who allowed things to come to this level resign& let Govt of india ask for explanation for every ones deriliction of his duty.

There are politicians who benefitted are keeping quiet as if nothing has happened.opposition MP is solent.
Excricketres are silent for their inaction in the past.

What is happening is witch hunting. i am for fair trail for every one. Every one is answerable to the public.

law should be applicable to all.Let all concerned resigned en mass & face enquiries.

They do not want to listen because he has nothing to say other than threatening people with his connections. If he was clean he should have revealed names before itself and not to try to strike a deal now by threatening to reveal names.

none of these guys in bcci has the skills to develop n manage something like ipl...
modi will do fine in something else.. its bcci's loss
bcci just wants to enjoy the established ipl now since the hard work is already done..
bcci stands for bunch of crooks & cheats incorporated....
modi atleast created something so worthwhile..
others just are useless office bearers with no vision or skills

Hard work has been done and not without getting personal benefits. Now we know why he wanted this to be one man show. To keep the looting a secret, of course. And all business men, started this business of looting the money from cricket crazy fans because their own companies could not be run profitably because of recession.

Lalit can explain everything in court if he wants to. Pray tell me, why was an honest MoS for external affairs, Shashi Tharoor, not given opportunity to speak before giving his resignation?
