IPL should be banned
by indira on Apr 23, 2010 08:25 PM  | Hide replies

It will be good for cricket if IPL is banned. With lot of controversies and match fixing allegations the game of cricket is getting ill repute. Lalit Modi's reputations are not good and one can not expect clean form of entertainment from such a person. If any one has any doubt about Modi's credentials pl. read the following excerpt from wikipedia.

Criminal convictions

On March 1, 1985, while a sophomore at Duke University, Modi was arrested on charges of conspiracy to traffic cocaine and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. On April 2, 1985, Modi and another student were indicted on second-degree kidnapping, a misdemeanor charge of assault inflicting serious injury and conspiracy to kidnap.[9] Modi pleaded guilty to the crime when the case was heard in the Durham County court, North Carolina and later entered a plea bargain, which resulted in a suspended two year prison sentence.[10] Modi moved the court again in 1986 after he graduated from Duke University, he sought permission to move to India on health grounds. The court ordered: "As a fact the defendant has been hospitalized. His doctors indicate that a return to his home in India would facilitate his recovery… The said probation be modified to unsupervised probation. As a condition, the defendant is to perform 200 hours of community service by 1990. He may return to his home…"[10]

An article in Tehelka magazine alleges that Modi was involved in a co

So what's the point? What does his arrest with suspended sentence back in 1985 has to do with IPL, and IPL need to be suspended because of that?

LOL..funny.. funny

T20 is very much the future of cricket and every country has their own T20 league. And we have done much better job marketing our league and IPL is one of the top three sporting events in the one now..

LOL..funny.. funny

Sycophant to the core and always believe saying 'good to hear' things with no stand or principles on any issue, just goes by what is beneficial in a given situation.

JPC probe would be used to save politicians
by vijaya kumar on Apr 23, 2010 07:16 PM

JPC Probe would be used to Save & Trade the heads of Party People. CBI, IB and RAW should be given the Job under the supervision of Supreme Court (NOT UNDER THE CORRUPT UPA GOVT.) to find out whether Under World from foreign countries and India involved in Investments, Organizing Events, Parties etc and every involved Culprits should be charged with NSA. Politicians should be " BANNED " to take over or get actively involved in Sports, Education & Religious institutions.

Modi is being made a scapegoat
by vijaya kumar on Apr 23, 2010 07:15 PM

Modi is being made as scapegoat. BCCI is nothing but a treasure for politicians from all parties to share the booty and amass wealth at the cost of the nation. Now Modi is being an outsider meaning not a politican every political party joined together and crucify him as if he is alone responsible.
Modi as a single man can never do without active collusion of politicians. The present Govt talks of cleaning the system and it is a crude joke.
A report says more than 50% of mps belonging all political parties are having criminal back grounds. Even the allies or earlier allies of congress party’s right from Lalu, Mulayam and Mayawati are being charge-sheeted for corruption charges. Now the congress is acting as holier than cow.
Had Modi colluded with Sashi Tharoor this problem would not have come to such a pause. These political parties receive cash for election from Industrialists and this is going on for a long time. Modi today became a victim as he underestimated the wickedness of our politicians. But Modi has a chance to revenge by disclosing the entire facts without sparing any politicians in the murky deal. Modi should bring in the truth and the real colour of the politicians who looted and amassed wealth in BCCI and IPL.

When are we going to be a mtured democracy ?
by vijaya kumar on Apr 23, 2010 07:14 PM

What ever is happenning now is a great disappointment to cricket lovers. The Government could have waited atleast till the IPL CRICKET matches are over, before indulging in this mud slinging with Modi. The Government (and the media) is so unmindful of the impact this tussle, has on the world community, people will look at IPL matches with suspicion. Should India not be proud of a match like IPL, a world class sporting event and protect it; should not Government investigate Modi discreetly, far away from the media glare. The Government has let down the cricket lovers, and shown itself in a poor light to the world community, with this kind of brash action. This is nothing but washing dirty linen in public. When are we going to be a matured democracy?
