BCCI bigwigs likely to skip IPL Awards Night
by Chandrashekar Muthur on Apr 23, 2010 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

It is one way good so that large number of cricket lovers in India need not see these corrupt and shameless faces. They may even create politics in the list of players selected for awards. All these BCCI bigwig were chanting Modi's name when IPL was peak and popular and now they want to distance from him, Most ungreatful and unreliable fellows

I fully agree with Mr. Chandrashekhar Murthy. These BCCI honchos, who were close to Modi till yesterday, are suddenly distancing themselves from Modi only because they are scared that if they do not side with the present political set up at the Centre, their black deeds would come out. Naturally it is a question of survival for them.

This is good. It will uncover all corrupted BCCI members, black marketers and ugly politicians in phases. Earlier they all were united so the scam could not reveal to public.

Vindictive attitude of Congress
by Sree Kumar on Apr 23, 2010 01:02 PM  | Hide replies

I have a different view. The too pro-active steps of the Govt. shows age old vindictive attitude of Congress. A Govt. which otherwise takes month to wake up on any issue has deployed all their important ministers in finding some fault with Lalit Modi. The Govt. is using IT Dept., DRI and all other agencies without any reservation. I heard from news that Govt. has made a committee of Home Minister and Finance Minister to study various lapses in IPL.

Modi should be punished for his mistakes. But the over eagerness being shown by the Govt proves that they frantically want to nail Modi by whatever means i.e if not by hook, by crook.

This is not expected from a thorough gentleman like MMS who is known for his balanced views.

MMS is not a thorough gentleman. He is a meek, submissive person given to serving his bosses and keeping them happy. He is not a leader by any definition. His servile attitude is evident in any of his meetings with Sonia Gandhi, US president, British PM, and all other white skinned people.

Parliament is in motion and Govt. cannot drag the issue. Dr. Sasi Tharoor lost his ministerial berth now because of the above reason otherwise Govt. would have not removed him so quickly.

What are these bigwigs trying to prove?
by VASUDEVAN V on Apr 23, 2010 12:59 PM

By skipping the function, the BCCI bigwigs are insulting the players and the winners. What exactly are they trying to prove? That BCCI has no connection with IPL? Or, are they trying to distance themselves from Lalit Modi who, as of of now, is the Commissioner of IPL? It is a childish act on the part of the BCCI bigwigs. Everyone of them is a scum who had basked in the glory of IPL and made money while the going was good. The moment the heat is on, they are running scared, making Lalit Modi the scapegoat. Come on, Lalit, reveal everything you know and take down with you as many of the big guns and politicians as possible with you!

Stop acting like spiteful kids
by Kes Som on Apr 23, 2010 12:56 PM

BCCI "top bosses" should stop acting like spiteful kids and attend both events. If there are other disagreements they can be sorted out later at the council meeting.

Rahul baba and IPL
by Sameer Bhagwat on Apr 23, 2010 12:56 PM

What congress does from now onwards to bring out and punish the obvious people involved is directly proportional to the future of rahul gandhi and the future of the congress. Listen carefully to the voices on the ground and to the aam junta this is make or break time for the government on India. If committees and commissions are formed and results never come out....game over rahul baba, nitin gadkari is positioning himself as a man from grassroot to the top. Congress better get their act together for a long-term view.
