DADA IS ACLASS BUT TEAM SELECTION WAS WORST
by newshubashchandrabose on Apr 26, 2010 01:40 AM  | Hide replies

A player without playing international cricket shows his class...a player neglected, critised and disrespected shows his class.....a player who has been tagged aged player shows his class......a player to be the 4th Highest Run scorer with 3 cardon kamal catches shows his class....

What was dada's record in IPL1 and 2? Useless. In IPL 3 he has bettered his own useless record and failed everywhere. Thats all can be said about dada.

Dada's team selection was pathetic.
by Dennis Christie on Apr 23, 2010 02:18 PM  | Hide replies

Yes,Dada excelled as a batsman and fielder but primarily he and to some extent Whatmore and Akram- the team management made some serious mistakes in team selection for which KKR were the only team who never knew what their playing XI shud be. Bond shud have played in every match since he arrived. C. Pujara shud have been at # 3 through out. Ishant Sharma shud have been dropped permanently after 1st 2-3 matches, out of water fish - Mandeep Singh shud never have played... he batted at # 3 in 2-3 matches. Against CSK at Chennai he got the team horribly wrong, where Agarkar & Dinda were the leading bowlers on a spin track. Again keeping Bond for Yusuf Pathan at Ahmedabad was a big mistake as the RR openers enjoyed the mediocre pace attack initially. Opening the bowling with Parmar in one match backfired. What was Agarkar doing in the line up for most part of KKR's IPL campaign, inspite of being a proven liability, only Dada knows.

laxmi shukla has been failing for three seasons in IPL.....
Pujara is just not meant for T20.... he played one crucial knock... when needed... his only meaningful contribution came with Ganguly againsr Rajasthan... that too playing a supporting innings....and in the match against Rajasthan... it was Gangu's capncy which bought KKR back in the match.. after Dinda picked those crucial wickets in the 12th and 13th over.....
Agree with u in... ishant's and bond's case....

Sorry dada didnt excel as a batsman. In T 20 cricket its the strike rate that matters running the singles and not giving dot balls. On all these counts he failed. He is too old and unfit for T 20. High time he should retire

Also, an utility player like Laxmi Ratan Shukla-batting, bowling & fielding shud have been in the playing XI always. Surpisingly he played in 2-3 matches. Dada just cudn't get his playing XI till perhaps the penultimate match when KKR where almost out of contention for a semis berth.

Dada just played without any concern for the team. If dada was such a good player why is this fate of KKR for 2 consecutive IPLs? Drop him he does not bode well for the team.

Where is Mathew Hayden? What's his contribution in this IPL? Is he noe there because CSK are in the finals thanks to creditable performance by almost everyone in the team, except him? Or, is it because he is an Aussie with a bad temper??

Adam Gilchrist has been the biggest flop this year, if we can remember he was a flop from last year's final. I dont understand why his name is not being published anywhere.

is knowledge on an issue necessary to write something about it....

Sourav Ganguly in this list!!!!
Demeaning someone just for the sake of it is cheap.....

In all the matches where Ganguly had scored.... the team had won..!!!! In each and every match where he scored more than 35.... the team had won.... he deserved 4 mom awards.... but whatever the commentators feel.....

I dont know how can someone batting be held responsible... when he alone single handedly won 80% matches for the side....!!!!
If a 117 strike rate wins u matches and a 160 strike rate fails to make any contribution... wonder which one is more important!! Winning or maintaining a strike rate......

All the domestic players and big name foreigner have been failing for KKR... for the last three seasons....

And this year his captaincy was supreme on the field... even better than his hay days... when he lead India....

whosoever has written this write-up is an idiot....!!! doesnt have any knowledge of cricket.... team selections is not done only on the whim of the capn.... there are others involved as well..... and his on field leadership was stunning...... there were many instances where he out-thought his opposition....

Sehwag needs to change his mindset in T20
by unknown rahul on Apr 22, 2010 12:39 PM

In order to succeed in T20 Sehwag needs to change his mindset. Problem with Sehwag is that he thinks in T20 he needs to hit every ball, so ultimately he throws his wicket away. If he just stays in wicket for few overs and then go for the attack he will be very much successful even in T20.

Else he will be like an Afridi in one day cricket.
