It should have been investigated when Tharoor was staying in a 5 star hotel and using it as an apartment. Tharoor has put on a mask of respectability for too long, but the buck does not only stop with Tharoor, the entire IPL needs to be thoroughly probed and its source of funding and politicization tackled. Lalit Modi's motivations of going on tweet may have an ulterior dimension, as he charge of Rendazvous that there was pressure from the Ahmedabad lobby and Lalit Modi too needs investigation. And there could be some subtance in the allegation of this Rendazvous group that they were being pressured by Lalit Modi to shift base to Ahmedabad, as there is another franchise that was literally forced to shift base there by Mr. Lalit Modi: Rajasthan Royals. It needs a clearer explanation of the reasons why teams that are based in one town/state need to be playing matches in another.
Why did Lalit Modi didn't object to the share holder information in the beginning of the bidding process. So is he telling that he was totally unaware of the people who were bidding for the franchise. In that case, the bidding process was a total flawed process and Modi has to take the moral responsibility. (I highly doubt that, especially when big shots like Videocon, Adani, Sahara are involved)
The total ownership pattern of all the IPL franchise is not disclosed, Preity, SRK, Ambani, Shilpa,.... they represent the franchise but it is not still disclosed the entire ownership pattern (that is why Modi said that he will bring those inf: after the IPL tournament).
So if he has not cared to disclose the inf: of those franchise for 3 years, why did he have to ask for those inf: from the Kochi team? and that through twitter. I would also like to shed some light to the pattern in which the bidding process was altered mid way in such a way that only 2 teams were eligible for bidding - Videocon and Adani. Later this was dropped when there was wide spread criticism and BCCI had to set things into order.
I am not saying that Kochi franchise has not done anything wrong. I seriously doubt a lot of black money is floating in IPL. The best method to clear all the smoke, is to go through a vigilance enquiry to all the team and find the source from were the money is coming from.

As expected, Lalit Modi had the last laugh..This goes to show how various political parties are involved in this billion dollar reaching money corrupt IPL.. Modi in greed of more money wanted to overthrow the Kochi team as he would get more money now.. But that happened after bidding..So he is targetting Kochi team.. Poor Tharoor caught in between all this for supporting the Rendezvous members.. Modi tried to bribe and all and then now has the last laugh with Sunanda being removed.. This goes to show how one man who is curropt can influence matches, , tournament and other things.. Its time to stop the monopoly of Modi in IPL and chuck him out...
Thanks to Rediff for publishing such a detailed interview. This bloke appears not to be hiding anything and it mostly matches with Shashi Tharoor's statements. Shashi Tharoor's interactions with the group prior to the auction appears to have been channeled through Mr Venugopal and Sunanda Pushkar, who were already part of the consortium. Sunanda Pushkar being his friend, he may have influenced the real-investors to bid for Kochi. The RSW is actually doing a favor for Tharoor (and Kerala) by representing Kochi, and so where is the question of bribe being paid to Shashi Tharoor.
If Shashi Tharoor indeed received a "bribe" (as sweat-equity to his friend), then for what reason was it paid? What benefit did RSW get from Tharoor? They do not need Tharoor's permission to represent Kerala and the bidding process was managed by IPL, who themselves were shocked at RSW winning the bid. So no question of Tharoor influencing the bid.

Question is not just of bribe. The sweat equity has been given without any real work doen by Sunanda or Tharoor. So, it could actually be not sweat equity but paid equity being passed off as sweat equity so that the source of incoem need not be shown. In this case, the minister is involved in shady deals and has undisclosed wealth. This is a breach of trust and not acceptable as a minister or MP.
Congress and Tharoor are mafiaising sports in India. And this can of worms opened just bcoz Lalit Modi exposed Congress agenda of shifting sports to Abu Dhabi!
This is just another example of how Congress is looting Aam Admi and depreiving India and IPL to become a Super Power and International Sports Hub.
Those who are supporting Congress are real betrayers of the Aam Admi.

how can u say sports being shifted to abu dhabi...how can they do that with only one team goin there to play while all others staying in india...then hw vl it be ipl...wat tharoor said was v can hold exhibition matches in dubai....which have huge indian population living there...even manchester united,chelesa liverpool,arsenal and barcelona plays friendly matches in dubai...does that mean they r shifted from europe....this statement was made by modi when he realised that he was cornered
