KOCHI team is too intelligent with their 1500 crore investment unlike small time 300crores franchisees . They are not fools. They know what they are doing. Becoz LM became vitriolic ,kochi is giving it back supposedly with evidences, with specific statements to media viz 50m dollar bribe, threats to life, involvement of politicians and harrasment, raids on 2 kochi investors in ahm in last 2 days, their clean financial record in bidding, there will be lot more if they wish to speak. All this is forcing a broader look into other franchi invoice and inventory!! which is asking trouble for many and LM too.... .. ST will come out unscathed though..

U don't know the IPL profit sharing calculation. Broadcasting itself US$ 5 Billion which will be shared equally for all teams. US$5 Bilion = 2500 Cr. then thare are soo many income by sponcers. Ticket sale is only for Tea and Biscuit expenses.

The IPL franchise owners have recovered, from central television and sponsorship revenues, close to 80% of the money they paid to the BCCI in the first year of the Twenty20 league, according to figures tabled at the BCCI’s annual general meeting.

In total, the franchise owners handed over Rs 289 crore (approximately US$62,124) to the board as the first annual instalment of the amounts they bid to buy the rights to own an IPL team. But as part of the revenue-sharing formula they have earned back Rs 224 crore from the central earnings of the first edition, which was held from April 18 to June 1.

“It shows that the franchises made much more money that many thought they would,” Lalit Modi, the IPL chairman, told Cricinfo. “It shows that the IPL has become very profitable, and the franchises can now count themselves lucky. According to my calculation, new franchises will now be valued at anywhere between US$250-300m.”

dont even try....
internally reliance has concluded that the media exposure that RIL gets through IPL is worth 75 crores in three years (this is apart from all other incomes)... dont forget they have bought the team at around 450 crores if i am not wrong...

reliance retail runs promotions on all formats around the IPL idea...
if u look at in store publicity u'll realise IPL offers big opportunity for about 1 quarter of the year....
its a big gain if it suits ur product

5 IPL teams are owned by Corporate Houses. The ownership issue lies with the 3 filmy teams which are owned by Consortiums - KKR, KXIP & RR. Who are the other real owners of these teams apart from the film stars who have only some stake in these franchise.

Instead of denying the allegations of Mr Lalit Modi, the Kochi Team should make their ownership details public and authorisr IPL to show these during the broadcast of IPL matches.

I feel ownership of all IPL teams should be published- at the time of purchase of the team and as on now. This should also give the percetage of shares held and the amount paid by each director.
