Dont say cricketers cant afford business class?
by NadarJaiganesh Chandran on Apr 17, 2010 06:11 PM  | Hide replies

Why cant other players also travel business class. Dont they get paid. Money is sufficient that in a year they can travel atleast ten times in business class. Anybody want to argue with me please comment about what i have said.

Even if money is enough, that is no reason to waste it.

At 40 runs average a player like Laxman can't be a nightmare. His average is 30% less than that of sachin or dravod

wouldn't be surprised at Indians' slave-mentality
by Sameer Bhagwat on Apr 14, 2010 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

Probably IPL organizers pay business class for the white cricketers while forcing others to travel economy. This would be in accordance to the white-skin worshipping mentality of Indians, especially North Indians.

If team is paying for the flight then the star players will get 1st class/business seats since there are maybe 10-15 on a flight & most are domestic so those are even smaller.

If players are paying for their own ticket then why not travel in 1st class if you have the money. Players like suman/ojha/etc dont have big contracts and only make 30-50k a year playing in ipl. 1st class & business class seats cost $5-10 thousand dollars. So you can see why theyd fly in economy.

Dont be biased like that man, try to think clearly. Otherwise theres no use going forward if your mentality of thinking is so quick to judge like that.

Do not agree with Vipul Kumar
by Rahul Kulkarni on Apr 14, 2010 11:54 AM

Gilchrist can afford flying business class. Other cricketers do not get paid as much as him and hence fly economy. Mr. Vipul Kumar has pulled a Shashi Tharoor here as far as flying "cattle" class in concerned
