CSK's victory to IPL-3 ended on 13th april
by bharatpremi on Apr 14, 2010 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

CSK's victories ended on 13.4.10.Now they will have 2 huge defeats one in Madras and the other in Dharamsala. This will be a stunning blow to proud Dhoni and Raina and to corrupt Srikkant who misuses his chief selection post to give chance to Tn players like Karthik,Aswin,Badri,Murali only despite their consistent failures in Tests and ODIs.He gets full suppot of Srinivasan!

Yes Mr. Gentleman you have pointed out exactly how these players got chance. But you have missed to note the performance of these guys especially that of Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik.
Murali Vijay:
-------------
Murali Vijay is technically a sound batsman. He has got all the capabililties to be a match winner in near future. He will be a good replacement for the likes of Sehwag/Dravid. Vijay has got the technique next to Rohit Sharma. Though these two have proved in patches, they will be the future of Indian cricket after the retirement of Sachin/Dravid/Laxman/Sehwag. It is necessary to groom them.
Dinesh Karthik:
---------------
Even in the case of Dinesh Karthik, he is a very good team player. He will prove handy in the absence of Dhoni. Though he cannot find a place in the current playing Eleven, he is the correct replacement for Dhoni in his absence. He has got all the ability to handle and command the team. He is spirited, commited and enthusiastic which will create an aura.
He is much better than other competitors like Parthiv Patel, Saha etc...

Aswin:
------
He is talented and will be handy in turning tracks. But with the ongoing competition with Ohja, Piyush Chawla, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Karthik he has got more to prove. Else he will continue to play in Ranji level only. His selection is partial in view but considering the performance of other spinners he too deserves a chance in round robin method. None other than Harbajan is a proven match winner

Badrinath:
------------
Poor fellow. He never deserves a place even in Chennai Super Kings!
He is a good captain of Tamilnadu in Ranji level. He can continue his good work there itself!
Srikanth don't select him for National squad. Let him concentrate and groom TamilNadu players.

Murali Vijay has played some wonderful knocks in IPL-3.But in Tests and ODI where he got chance many many chances, he failed till now.

Karthick has improved himself as a specialist batsman. But as WC, Saha is much much better. In fact Saha is the best WC in India today, better than the arrogant and adamant Indian cricket captain.Even Parthiv,Naman Ojha better than Karthik as WC.

Aswin is yet to prove.Mishra,Ojha are young,Harbhajan is going great guns. How can he get chance?

Badri is a class player, but somehow he is not clicking in big occasion. I think only Badri has talent.

I am worried that Anirudha Srikant might enter Indian team anytime!Lets hope for the best from Nov 2010 when Srikkant’s tenure will be finished.

KKR can still go to semis
by bharatpremi on Apr 14, 2010 11:26 AM  | Hide replies

1.There are 8 matches.Out of these, KKR must win both the matches, DC and CSK must lose
both their matches.
2. This will make automatically make DD and KXIP to win both their matches.
3. RCB must beat RR on 14.4.2010.
4. If 1),2),3) hold good then result of MI vs RCB can be anything, and MI.DD.RCB,KKR shall go to
semis.
5. If 1),2),3) result hold good but RR beat RCB, then MI should also beat RCB .In that case RCB
will be 12, and RR will go with 14 points along with MI,DD,KKR..

High time for KKR
by Rock On on Apr 14, 2010 10:45 AM  | Hide replies

Full marks to CSK for the thumping victory over KKR. Its a team that deserve to be kicked hard and CSK did no errors in giving that. However, there are many questions to be answered by KKR management -
1.Why is the importance given to Impact players of foriegn land? - Everyone is aware that playing XI can have only 4 foriegner, the rest 7 should be Indian. Look at the Indian players. Apart from Ganguly, no one has any reputation or sufficient exposure in international level.I wonder, why SRK did not pick a strong domestic player.
2. On what basis playing XI against CSK was chosen? Why was W Saha behing stumps. If KKR has hired McCullum who happens to be national WK for NZ, not utilized as WK against CSK or the previous match against RCB? This could have enabled some other Batsman / Bowler to be in playing XI.
3. Why is Agarkar with his consistent pathetic performance enjoys a spot in playing XI?
4. Finally, though I am not a Ganguly fan, I feel that he should not be blamed alone. Everyone knows his limitation, but still with all hes drawbacks, he is the only consistent performer in KKR. And, regarding yesterdays match, his out was an error on the part of Umpire. However, these things happen in cricket.

It high time for KKR management to thing & re-think regarding the composition of team for the next season of IPL.
Blaming Ganguly alone will not help. Accountability of KKR CEO Mr Joy Bhattacharyya, Coaches need to be accessed.

Equations
by Bipul Kumar on Apr 14, 2010 10:32 AM  | Hide replies

Here is what your favourite team needs to do to reach Semies

KKR - Win both and pray God for a miracle. They are virtually out.

DC - Win both. One win is not enough as their run rate is very poor.

RR - Win both. One win is not enough as their run rate is very poor.

RCB - Win against RR or MI should be enough. Win against RR is much better.

DD - Win against CSK or DC should be enough. Win against CSK is much better.

CSK - Win against DD or PXI should be enough.

Given the current form, following is the strongest possibility:
RR - 16 points (win both RCB and KXIP)
DD - 14 points (win CSK)
RCB - 14 points (win MI)
DC - 14 points but out
CSK - 12 points and out
KKR - 10 points and out

This is one of the most ridiculous predictions. Given the current form, CSK will definitely qualify for the semis, given we have another home match against DD. DD lost momentum and they were no way near winning CSK in chennai. CSK has got second best ru rate after MI. SO think before u speak.

I have given a fair thought.

Delhi is a good team and they are losing because of their own mistakes. They will focus hard on the next match. CSK is on a roll (just like RCB sometime back) and they are bound to get bit complacent and lose focus. So, DD has much better chance.

For the last CSK match with PXI, PXI has nothing to lose but CSK will be under huge pressure. They will crumble, believe me.

Mumbai - 20
CSK - 16
DC - 16
