The condition of other sports is pathetic. Look at our olympics performance. I|am a cricket fan but it makes me sad to see the money, enthu and stupidity behind IPL. Just give cricket a break for some time. I used to enjoy cricket when I was a teenager but nowdays it is overdose. I have lost the enthu. There should be a reservation quota for non-cricket sports.

Who doesnt do things for money. Nobody on this plannet does anything for charity. If you have the speciality of sports in you then why dont you do some charity work for small teams. I bet you would go to the level of earning 100 bucks if you have talent in you.

the guy clearly thinks he's above the game!!!i dont think he understands it was his power mongering in the RCA which is causing this. the way he decided to shift all the DC matches away from Hyderabad despite assurances from all the parties involved is absolutely ridiculous. i just hope that he is kept away from the IPL as year on year the amount of commercialization in the league increases. I think people will eventually have an overdose of IPL next season with 2 more teams and 94 matches!!! he might just be killing the goose which laid the golden egg.

Let me remind you. He is the one who has CREATED IPL. It is human for him to be arrogant about it. Besides he goes through a nightmarish stress of dealing with regional politics and security concerns.

You should get up and salute a man who brought in so much money and gave opportunity to several cricketers. He also dared to snub the pakistanis because of which he and is family are on the hitlist of terrorists and D Gang.

IPL is now an industry which is likely to go to the level of NBA. Never in the history of India anybody has acheived at this pace.

You are right! This guy clearly thinks he is above the game. Looks very high handed also. IPL would continue whether he is in charge or not.

You have a typical indian mentality of hate and pull down anybody going up.

Why can't we admire people who make a difference.

Who do you think deserves to lead IPL more than Lalit? and why?

Bhavin, the ranting and raving is bound to continue...you are right Modi has just taken his mega business dreams chosen the Indian mentally crippling passion for cricket and woven a system which delivers mega bucks. Lalit also banked on the regionalistic mindset of Indians to guaranttee success to the venture. There may only be one negative fallout....the disintegration of national cricket if cricketing heros get so psychologically carried away by regionalism that they lose their orientations and fail to come together as a united national team. This is only the 3rd IPL, lets see what effect it has on the national spirits of the players a dozen sessions in the future. Though moolah makes the spirit adjustments easy...you do have the egocentrically crippled variety like Yuvraj who lend spark to such fears.

I agree with Bhavin. If BCCI and IT dept wanted to show they are genuine, why not place all the controls, checks before IPL1. Not dramatize now. Why did not the IT officials ask for shareholding pattern,do the raids/investigations before IPL1? Simple. They are govt dogs and when govt officials at the highest office level then these dogs come into the action.
Lets give credit to Lalit Modi for what he has done to IPL. He did pull it off in IPL2 when the Indian govt could not assure security and asked the event to be postponed.
There could be monitoring and governance added to make it a success instead of getting into cheap acts and harrassment. Make it professional and appear lawful.
