I watching a match of Eng Vs SA in SA. The Cheergirls were in track suits and fully covered and their actions were very decent.

Contrary to this the Cheergirls in IPL are almost str1pped and actions are too vu1gar. But Mallya loves them.

Getting attracted is also a part of life !!
by Proud Indian on Apr 07, 2010 01:27 PM

Males get attracted to females and females get so viceversa.. See IPL cheerleaders as a pleasant distraction and nothing else and don't bring our culture into this ! Still the Brahmin says that he is the most superior caste in the country... He still doesn't know about Abraham Lincoln

Cool down !!!
by Proud Indian on Apr 07, 2010 01:24 PM

We gave the world `Kamasutra' and erotic images are inscribed all over the temples of India in Khajurao and Ajanta and Ellora and elsewhere and the god Shiva himself was a dancer, Nataraja... What is the harm in seeing these females anyway.. when all pornagraphic magazines ( a skimpily clad female is always there in Midday daily) and FTV is also being shown (though that was a temporary ban) and pornographic material is available on the internet.. These girls are only dancing for their livelihood.. get out of this drudgery, the local trains, the disgusting grime and the pollution.. At least, India has produced that the world envies !!

Interestingly, Cheearleaders are really taking the cricket match at a large...

I wouldn't be surprise after few years, if cheearleaders will be performing in the center of the pitch, and cricket is played one far corner of the ground outside the boundery...

Absolutely.

IPL has shown that everything can be sold in India and very nicely on the name of cricket. The fact is that cricket has been replaced by daily video games and players are like robots in the control of Industrialist, corporates, businessmen, Film Stars, Ad companies and Media.

Actually writing the obituary of cricket was started in 1992 when NZ prepared small grounds for world cup and Mark Greatbatch started hitting sixes from very first ball. Then Sanath Jaisurya and our master blaster made the game more mechanical with heavy bats, whole padded body and ads all around the costume.

Since early 90s cricket is no longer a sport, its an entertainment to push commercials of consumer companies. After T20, one can expected even a shorter version of the game with strategy breaks after every ball bowled and Cheerleaders dancing on the pitch and hugging the players making it more fun filled game. And People would love to enjoy this game.

Did you ever think of T20 10 years back? Its a reality.

Did you ever think 10 years back that Cheergirls in almost neud will dance in cricket matches? Its a reality now.

What Lalit Modi dreamt 10 years and back, BCCI Rejected, he vowed to do this. He has done it. He may have many other dreams, for commercial reasons.

Modi knows what sells in India. He is selling it and reaping rich harvest. Indian consumer companies have already increased the prices of their product by 20-50% pushing through IPL.

Where is Shiv Sena???
by B M on Apr 07, 2010 10:56 AM  | Hide replies

Shiv Sena, who had made such a noise about the cheer girls during IPL1 are absolutely silent this time. Has Bal Thackeray developed interest in the cheer girls or has Lalit Modi paid money to SS to keep their mouths shut??

Shiv Sena and MNS are silent because BCCI has given Mumbai's first 7 matches in Mumbai, their home ground. And the matches have been rigged in favor of Mumbai by their sponsors. So, Shiv Sena and MNS have no problem with semi-nood cheer girls as long as Mumbai is winning.

There are local cheer teams too, for matches played in Mumbai (in addition to the girls).

There are hundreds of other avenues for the minds of our youths to get corrupted. Stopping the cheer girls is not going stop the youth from getting corrupted.

Cheerleaders should be made mandatory for test matches

Cheerleaders should be made mandatory for test matches in order to attract viewers. Else Test match will be watched be some lazy people in stadium with 10-15% occupancy

yeah, it is a sound idea. THE cheer girls in hot dresses will surely add color and keep the flock entertained in the stadium as well as on TV during test matches during momemts of boredom and rest periods. With dwindling attendance it is one of the many sound ideas that many are throwing up.
