well batting at no. 6 so getting no chance to prove himself. as the auther says there is hardly anyone who is batting lower down in the list.
This analysis does not include fielding contributions of players. Dinesh Kartick has so many dismissals to his credit behind the wickets. David Warner takes catches every match. How come these are ignored?

The MVPI considers fielding points too. We haven't explicitly mentioned them because it makes the tables too wide. But, yes, the best fielders of IPL3 so far are Karthik, Raina, Gilchrist, Jhunjhunwala, AB de Villiers, Naman Ojha and Warner.
I refer gauti viru robbie yuvi mahi suresh rohit/yusuf bhaji/amit zaheer praveen ashish/ishant .......
this one of the best combination with depth in batting and with 3 pacers and 1 expert spinner and also yusf suresh yuvraj can work as partime spinners.......if they go with these they will be champion of 2010 t20 wrld cup
Murli vijay when played against Oz , he looked an ordinary crow. Same is the case of Yusuf Pathan , he's always looked ordinary in international cricket. Is IPL showing the real class of players ?

Dude it takes time... Remember Gautam Gambhir, initally he will score only against bangldesh, kenya and flat Indian pitches..it took almost 1-2 years to settle down..Now he is one of our best..So wait..there are some good players..

What is being shown is statistics in this tournament so far.Definitely Players like Vijay are good and play cricketing shots but even if any one asks him he will never say he is any where close to Sachin. Why are we getting worked up.
This is just another presentation of statistical data.
Let us have large hearts to motivate younger players like Vijay,N Ojha and others as well

Actually Murali Vijay is a technically sound batsman. He is young. The century he scored in IPL T20 was with perfect cricketing shots. He is a very good prospect. Pathan is a hard hitting batsman. He is a match winner. On his day no one can stop him. India wants such players !

Re: What R the Criteria for Top Batsmen / Bowler ???

MVPI is a total of batting, bowling and fielding points. Our top 25 batsmen/bowlers list is made up of players with the highest batting/bowling points. For batsmen, our formula gives bonus runs for better economy rate. Vijay has 49 runs less than Tendulkar but a strike rate of 170 against Tendulkar's 140. That gives him a slender advantage.
